By the time your high enough to take down yelinak, youre going to have much better weapons than this piece of junk.

This would make a wonderful weapon for soloing those undead snakes in the Grey.

If you play a pally you should know Ward of nife or Instrument of Nife proc way more damage than dismiss undead.
I would rather use a fast 1hander or 2hand weapon; however I m not sure whats proc rate on this 2hander, its my experience spell imbue proc and weapon proc usually block each other, havnt seen both proc exact time in one combat round, yet.

Much like the Ghoulbane, the power of this weapon comes from the sheer number of procs (especially with high dexterity and haste) you receive when using a weapon with a proc like this + nife. I've never had them both proc in the same round, but I HAVE had twice the procs when using both the Ghoulbane and Nife, and let me tell you - against the undead, with a weapon like this and instrument of nife, the Paladin becomes a DPS class.

Yes, but imagine the damage this could do if you manage a double proc on a double attack, 162 + 240, and whatever you hit when you land your attack. Up until my Paladin got a weapon with insane damage, ghoulbane was still her best friend when undead hunting for the reason that IoN stacks with weapon procs

i saw a Guy in Mistmore the other day, he was not really a self twink, yet not a newb, he was a halfling lvl24th full Crustation armor and some other decen stuff, yet he was Weilding YES this weapon, i was amazed at the thought he was so low and useing such a powerful weapon fround from Skyshrine, had to post this, aparently his friend is lvl60 and ported him in after the fight, what luck eh? owell, i hope to weild one of these some day, would me just the UBahness eh?

I'm not sure if read the details right on this sword but I'm sure if you look at the stats it's not no drop. So the guy wouldn't have to loot it directly. His alt or friend could have looted it and given it to him later.

lol actually it is no drop. and the idea that a lvl 20 could loot it is absolute nonsense. I assume they also have the key to ToV? Don't waste space posting useless messages. Uh oh, am I wasting space posting a stupid message in responce to another stupid message? <sigh>

Number 1, It is Terribly easy to loot this weapon. port to CS, Run invis to Skyshrine, Zone into Skyshrine, Get Called to Yelinaks corpse, Right click corpse, Loot weapon. No.2 There is no key to ToV. No.3 Yes you are wasting space.

Yes your response is rather stupid, 1st off Yelinak is in Skyshrine, not tov. 2nd, You do not need a key to enter skyshrine from wakening lands side. 3rd, it is very common for guilds that take down mobs such as yelinak to have twinks or friends loot nodrop pal/sk weapons since they drop so abundantly. In conclusion, maybe you should get your facts straight before opening your mouth, and "wasting space".
oh and dont forget, they just duel the lvl 1 and BAM, back to their bind point with their new ownstick in their hands to slay those puny newbie mobs, face it, those noobie mobs will never see it coming, either will those other middle school age kid twinks who think they are better than the world

I was really pissed a few days ago. I mean, its ok when someone twinks their character with droppable weapons. Thats understandable cause they have the money. But when a lvl 40 pally has one of these, I get very sad =( Its horribly sickening to think that someone camped their lowly lvl 40 (prolly 30 or less at the time) pally in SS near Yelinak so he can loot the damned sword. Thats enough.

Is it not one of the points of the game to try and get good gear and to strategically and methodically plan your moves and advancements? Why should items like this be only limited to high end lvls.
I say if you can get it, then get it. I know that I am very glad that I did as well as many people who I have grouped with are equally glad that I have this item.

lol... the reason monks don't have as many 'good' weapons is because unlike warriors, rogues, rangers, palys and SKs, we can only use 2 types of weapon, so stop winging and deal with it... i'm a monk, i don't have any 1hb, do you see me complaining? DO YA?

Just as an info. Monks can use slashing weapons. Check out e.g Goblin Skinner or Goblin Slaver's Whip as a 1h Slashing or the Pestilence Scythe as 2h Slashing. And as a monk you can equip the weapons and you can hit with it which is not verry likley though.

Don't forget Hand to Hand. And, just as info, Monks can use slashing weapons, but their skill never goes up in it.

Wow. I think the Damage/Delay is even better than our epics.....Does anyone else think Verant should do a little something about that and make it so our epic isn't the worste? I'm not trying to be mean, or flame Verant, I just don't like having the worste epic in the game. =-(

Im thinking I would take the epic over this, and I dont think Fiery Defender is the worst Epic.... This Proc, for starters is pretty bad and only works on Undead (obviously), than 42/44 is obviously better than a 35/40, but its not that much better, the stats on FD kinda make up for the difference, 1.142 isnt that big of a difference than 1.047, also this has a higher lvl to attain, no wis or str enhancers, and wieghts a crapload more than 0.1... but like I said i dont really know too much so what ever you guys think

This is from Lord Yel boss guy of SS. This is beyond epic proportions. Every class gets weapons better than their epics in NToV, even clerics(epic for CR in tink bag) Epics are stepping stones not the "best" weapons in the game. Epics were the best weapons prevelious. Besides odds are you will have your epic and be happy to upgrade it when you drop the mob with this item.
The shadowknight Epic pales in comparison.

finaly hybrids are getting the quality of weapons they deserve, keep in mind this is simply from yelinak, considered by most guilds to be pretty darn easy.

He is after the king of the dragonsif im not mistaken. Its not like an "uber" guild goes in with a couple groups and waxed him. He pretty much takes all the guilds resources, depending of course on the accual size of the guild.

I would never go so far as to say he was easy by the definition of the word, but in contrast to some of the other badies...he is one of the less difficult to take down.

Well im not sure i totally agree with that statement of course my guild could be doing something wrong. We havent killed aow yet or tunare but we have np on most of the others. Personally i rank the uber mobs aow tunare and the 4th warder(though i hear he is a joke with right strat) withstanding since i have yet to fight them as yelinak vyemm zlexak cazic thule vulak(mainly to keep from falling asleep)aarynor dain. Yeah i know dain sucks but justice makes it such a freakin pain to control agro. /rude zlexak and dain.

um acctually if you have ever done yelinak you would know he does not take all of a guilds resorces. yelinak can be done rather easily with about 35 people. which is not that many people. also he is perma rooted so if you get in trouble..... you run out past gate camp and try again. very easy cr, very easy to recover. so um, do you even know what YOU are talking about :)

hmm lets think. for one this isnt near the best pally weapon on the game. if u want to be a good pally get a Pallidius Axe of Slaughter loads of adds better ratio and hmm an extra 80ac. another awesome weapon. emerald ******* sword of purity 1hs sumtin like 24 24 40ac more adds...pally wants AC ppl come on. they do suck indeed i used to play 1. got him to lvl 50 before i couldnt take the uselessness any longer.

If you are clearing ntov and have an pall axe, AC no longer matters, for one the gear you will have will prolly take you post the soft AC cap, and 2 you will have realized that AC won't matter as a pally, all you want is resists and hp to deal with AE's on raids. And after 5 yeli kills chances are you will have seen 1 or 2 of these swords, after 10 Vulak kills you MIGHT see one pall axe.

Honestly as a level 60 paladin who does do ToV I would rather have more resists/Hp/Wisdom than more AC . I rarely get hit and when I am in an EXP group 1300 ac is more than enough for me
