I have found them only on Highland lions in NK and they're very rare.

hi !
i have killed many hundred of lions,
lionness , patriarch or highland, and
the only thing i found is ruined lion
skin, or ruined/medium/hq/cat pelt...
WHERE ARE THESE DAMN HQ LION SKIN????
if someone can tell me, i could sleep
better at night.
oh, by the way i am lev 32.

They ONLY drop from the Higland Lions in NK (Northern Plains of Karana that is). Very rare drop, read the other posts, they cover everything you need to know about the HQ lionskins

They are correct about NK being the sole source. But the prices on Bristlebane are quite high in the bazaar. I sold one over night for 800P!!!! I traded in zone once with a Ranger who was tired and I let it go cheap since he was working for it. But leveled in NK for 4 levels, very rare drop.
