70 enchanter and I haven't noticed a difference of getting less fizzles. Resists seem to be about the same as well =\
whoa

modern tradeskilling goes up to level 350 an I wouldn't be suprised if casting level is maxed at 70 or higher now in anticipation of DON and the next upgrade. Just for tradeskilling alone, this thing is now officially pimp.

Um, that's 300, soft cap.

At the moment there's no options to raise research above a 227 base skill.

Not very useful other than stats

This item's effect sucks. I am 65, and level cap is hardcoded to 65 and it does nothing for me. 20 levels are only used as a factor in determining fizzle rate and when capped it does nothing (and if feels like it does nothing). How many people under level 60 do you know that can get into VT and actually benefit from this?! Not many. IT's good for stats.

As far as 1% research, it's nice but not enough. I had 200 reseach, used this scepter and 5% quill and still failed on a level 60 spell combine (and wasted 10k in components and hours of farming). With my luck max research is capped at 205 :)

Keep this in mind when doing tradeskills.

The highest ANY ckill can get is 252. Your % addition to skills only gives you a MAX of 2pt bonus if your skill is 250.

Tradeskill softcap in game for research is 200. With that in mind, this thing should be 10%, not 1%. Thats just my opinion though.

Tradeskill modifiers do not stack.

yes I must agree this item is pretty lame, with casting level capped the effect is worthless, and the tradeskill mod is outdone by a geerlok that you can buy for 100pp. For a range item this has decent stats, but as a shaman my money is on umbracite swarm orb thx.

By the time you get to here, you've got something realy nice in each of your weapon slots that gives you enough bonus int/wis to drop smaller stat items from other stats for bonus mana/hp and resists, maybe even AC. While this item has nice bonus and resists it's not good enough to make you go back and re-do all your equipment to use it in either of those slots (unless you got something else in vex thal that changes everything else). This might replace your range slot item though.

What exactly would you have gotten for a prim/sec item prior to VT? If you progress fairly normal, you farm east and/or west tov for armour. Then NToV. Then luclin bosses and ssra. Then after you get at least twp emp kills you might have enough keyed for vt. WHere do you pick up better items than this for every single caster in you guild? My guild just got elemental flagged and we still have several people that could use this as an upgrade. So wtf are you talking about?

If you aren't in a guild that is in VT don't go telling other people what they should or shouldn't have already. Clearly you don't know what you are talking about.

This item is super uber for one primary reason - the Brillance of Ro focus effect. It effectively raises yer casting level by 20, and for wizzys, it stacks with Flappy, which can mean an effective casting level of 90 at level 65 with the PoP AA Familiar. That means a whole lot less resists on uber mobs for the high end raids, which is an incredible thing. Granted, I would rather have the Tome of Secrets for the focus effect and better stats, but would accept this if I couldn't get the ToS. Well, off to xp some more and keep on working towards getting into VT to get some uber phat lewt so I can eventually go own the Plane of Time.

1% to research lol ....like anyone able to go to this zone needs to do any research ever again
RE: lol
# Mar 07 2003 at 6:41 AM Rating: Good
With LoY, people can now do research for spells up to level 60. Granted, people in this zone would have all their good level 60 spells, but it still leads to another money-maker.
