Spell Shield is a spell based damage absorber. This only affects Direct Damage spells (which includes AE dd's) and does not affect melee damage or Damage over Time spells. However, stacking this with Arcane Rune, Rune of Zebuxoruk, and Uproar will give an enchanter quite a bit of extra room to live in any situation.
It's 700 point shield against magic effects only, it's targettable, and it uses a peridot. I find it's useful for when I'm soloing (I'm a magician), I can mod rod with no health loss, but it eats cash like there's no tomorrow.
One other note, this is useable by Necros, Enchanters, and Mages, as well as wizards. The effect is a Wizard only spell (level 58), so this allows 3 additional classes to take on this unique spell.
He meant that only wizards get the spell to cast. His reasoning for it to not go to a wizard is correct. It will let other classes get a spell they would not otherwise normally have. That is always a good idea. Now a necro can SpellShield for us wizards on raids and have a use! lol
well since all the classes listed already have a dmg absorbing shield it would make the most sense to give this to mages first .
i already know alot of people are going to rate my post right off the board but if you think about it mages first would make the most sense on this item sinnce they are the only class who doesnt get a dmg absorb sheild in spell form

OH!!!! Is that "ALL", if that's "ALL" i have to do here i come super uber gear. I am not bashing you, i am bashing the temporary laps in judgement, getting to 60 and to be in a vex qualified guild is a task few will accomplish. Much less getting to get some of the gear. But it is a good fantasy, and good luck getting there.
