So far this item I see this item is used for many tradeskills. I know for a fact that the posts on the Mages is correct. It is used for the epic 1.0 items and research practice skill up. It is probably used for the fletching skill as mentioned above as well.

The spawn area is just to the east of the Mesa ZL.
It is the area just north of the Northern Moorwalker's pathing along the mote.
Got 3 Feathers from clearing the initial spawns, approximately 12 griffons.

Still a great spot. Aviak Eggs drop as well, making this a one stop shop for bird related fleeting quiver drops.
Blightfire Moors is good place to get griffon feathers. In 8 kills I got 2 feathers. Killed many griffon in JP for hours and none dropped.
Loc +2201,-539,+246. Just southwest of Goru'kar Mesa zone on a ridge. There are many just sitting. They do run at low HP so eath pet is good to have. They do seem to assist. Also a named Skycore is there. He cons LB to 46 mage.

Griffon Feathers sell for 0 plat 7 gold 1 silver 4 copper when offered to Sateal Deirosap vendor in the bazaar by level 2 human monk with 143 cha... Current bazaar prices range from 15 to 100 plat on Bertox server...

I've been trying to loot these for potions and spell research components but the feathers appear to be few and far between. Does anyone know which of the zones seems to drop the most feathers?

The best place to farm Griffon Feathers is in Brightfire Moors. You'll find about a dozen stationary spawns of a mix of A Ridge Griffon and A Ridge Watcher, which both drop the feathers needed for creating Master Practice Runes (Azia) used to advance Spell Research skill (162 trivial). For those without track, stationary spawns are a godsend! They are located at the north end of the zone and is shown on the in-game maps. I round them all up at once, kill them, reapply my self-buffs from right click items and they start respawning before I get back with a drink of water.
when i used to play a ranger i spent a lot of time in jaggedpine fearkiting the griffons. i got a lot of feathers there. not sure if the drop rate has changed at all, that was about a year ago, but i would try there.

Try North Karana. There are three types of giffons there and two shouldn't be all that hard to hunt. They are still kind of hard to get as drops though.
Also used in shammy made Cannibalize potions called Vampiric Spirit I believe.

Does anyone know what Silver Griffon Feathers are used for? MAGIC ITEM, LORE ITEM, NO DROP
The Silver Griffon is probably the toughest griffon in N. Karana to kill.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I agree! Druids, don't fight this guy in wolf form-- he cancels magic on ya and then you can't outrun him. I sowed myself and snared him (don't bother rooting, it doesn't last long enough!)-- then i dotted & ran my butt all over NK!! lol
make sure you get a good magic resist & have cancel magic avail. for when he roots you. i had him down to 10% when he rooted me & proceeded to kick my little 41 druid a$$!! it was tooth & nail,then a wandering guard happened by and.... KILLED HIM!! LMAO needless to say, i may wait a little longer before i try that guy again!
