Qeynos Hills was the best spot for me, large abundance of wisps. Only had to kill 5 for greater lightstone
"JPF" is the common abbreviation for Jaggedpine Forest.

They are irregular drops in Qeynos Hills & West Karana...took me an hour to find 2 :>
I killed about 20 willowisps with my Beastlord in JPF and every single one dropped a greater lightstone except for one which dropped a absorption stone. I'll be sure to do the research aid quest with these from now on since it says the concordance of research is sellable for 8 pp and the stone is only sellable for 4 pp.
I can confirm this,nearly every wisp in this zone dropped a greater lightstone

Ok I understand how to aquire these stones but where exactly do I drop them off at, and to who exactly? Also, does anyone take the Lesser?

There is a Gypsy named Mrysila in North Karana and a female dark elf in South Ro (Evil counterpart to the Gypsy) who will give you a Concordance of Research for each Greater Lightstone and a book about research for each regular lightstone. The book sells for less than the lightstone though, so once you have any of the books you need or don't need the tiny experience bonus, don't bother turning in the regular lightstones. The Greaters are the only ones to turn in for a sellable reward.
You should also be aware that the Concordance of Research is a container, and as such can NOT be stored in any bags or boxes. So you'll need to have open general inventory slots for turning in Greater Lightstones.

for the night blind races like us humans there is a secondary use for these a light source these can be in your invintory outside a container and they will shed light for you.
great for low lvl charicters because it opens the secondary slot up for a sheild or second weapon for those with dual weild

Better yet, find a nice tailor (skill lvl 80-88 or higher) and have him combine 1 GLS + spider silk + Heady kiola and a glove pattern. The end result are a NICE set of Wu's gauntlets. Low WT, nice AC and an awesome lightsource.

I have killed as many as 3 wisps in a row and gotten GLS's. Have never had to kill more than 10 to get one. Like to save up about two backpackts, and swap them to the Gypsy in NK for concordances of research. Sell back to her for 9pp or in ec for 20pp to players.

do not know if it was luck or patch day but i hunted kerra island/erudins crossing and killed 79 of these and got

19 ls and the rest were burnt out, maybe after a patch they are not that rare?!!

No Way is it a Common Drop. It Can't! Ive Killed Them Forever And Never Once Found One!
I currently have 8 in the bank waiting for my tailoring skill to reach Wu Gauntlet level. Have sold easily a dozen others. Seem to be more common in East Commons than other areas I have hunted. If you have not found any and have been killing them forever, I wouldn't plan any trips to Vegas. <Grins mischeviously>
