schooling the newbs

No cleave does not stack

All the ones that do stack (shielding, Dot shielding, etc) go up to 34% max.

cleave is similar to an FE (focus effect).

Infact it is so for melee.
#clokverkorange, Posted: Aug 18 2004 at 8:13 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I gave up trying to get the 'Ubah Levelerz' stuff a long time ago. Once I did, I got a lot more enjoyment out of the game.

End-game is mixed enjoyment... the highs are high, but the lows are low, and as long as you give yourself some time outside of raids (so you don't go insane) I think it's just fine... I know I've enjoyed the game much more since joining a raiding guild, getting into time nearly a year ago, and now farming Qvic and Riftseekers and progressing through GoD... learning the Stonemite event in Inktu'ta is definitely more enjoyable than starting up your 14th LDoN adventure in a row. They've made end-game much more creative than it once was, so the challenge factor is there, and not the same old repetitive "kill the mob with 45 million hp" style that was rampart through Velious, Luclin, and even some of PoP.

No, Cleave effects do NOT stack. You get ONLY the highest. The Time/GoD effects that stack are generally those that are listed as a "+", for example "Stun resist +3%".

A SoE developer in fact confirmed on the Paladins of Norrath board a few weeks ago that Cleave in particular does not stack.

So Shielding effects stack? If they do there must be a cap on them cuz there are quite a few shielding effects I bet you can get it pretty high who knows maybe even up to 100% which would mean you are immune to melee dmg.

Shielding caps at 35%. Which is still a lot, it mitigates a 4000 hit into a 2600 hit, which is really the only way you're going to stay alive tanking GoD/OoW end zones.

Actually this isn't exactly true. Mob dmg is measured by the equation of dmg=B+(0-20x). B is the base dmg, aka the lowest amount the mob can possibly land a hit for, and that is what shielding mitigates. As such shielding can be incredibly useful for a mob which hits from 2k-4k, 30 percent would take off 600 dmg for every single hit the mob landed, however for a mob who hits from 50-4k (there are some like quarm) its near useless.
Cleave 3

Does anyone know if Cleave stackes? The BL's BP has cleave 2 on it.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 08 2004 at 12:00 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) rarr, you get this neck piece and its like using mighty strike almost constantly on a war, with all the critting aa's, you would p*ss everyone off with crit spam ooh what great fun, not to mention stun resist which just owns
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 06 2004 at 12:33 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Better effect on this than the GoD melee/hybrid
