Few things about this weapon and the mob that drops it. When our group had encountered him, he was in a center room with about 10 lvl 65-67 mobs around him (in agro range) monks lull was unafecting on all of them, so it was fd. Problem was the back spawns are on a 14 minute timer, so you either kill the mobs up the path to his room, then proceed to pull to that spot killing 10 mobs in 14 minutes,(with a very short amount of room to split these 10 mobs) or you attempt to fd pull him to entrance with all his friends. Our group, typical set up, chanter (with charmed toyed out pet) cleric, ranger on dps and snare, me (pally) on stun, shaman on slows, and a monk pulling, found it next to impossible to break this room, even with the pet dishing out 1k hits every other second,(maybe even every second at times) this is an all elemental geared group. Now for the item, I think this item is "up to par" for the encounter, 100hp is crap, if your in vxed and your a tank you more then likely have more hp then that if you use a 1hander. The effect is a decent agro tool if that, not alot of 55s at an ep lvl of play. Ive noticed it upsets guilds when nice weapons are made accesable by non corporated players, to them its like letting poor people into there country club. In closing this item should take no less then 65 people, be haggled over with guild officers, and then given to the guy who only has a 39 29 1hb (poor *******)
gratz to any hard working pally sk that gets this, cause thats the only one that will get it.
Flame if you want, but im right.....

I broke this guy..not gonna say it didn't get my heart pumpin either. It is by no means easy. And yes my guild uses the the chanter charm to farm gear from vxed because we don't yet have a tank that could possibly tank this. So a 65 bard with only 50 aa's and barely mediocre gear could pull this guy. Only took two fades as well. Pretty much any pally/sk in our guild would probably use this honestly. As a reply to this post..I say if you have the skill to do something then other's shouldn't get mad, charm killing in vxed or tipt is not easy, takes practice and skillk, and some decent aa's. If i could get a 10k warrior to always come that would be awesome and alot easier but some of us don't have that at our disposal.

#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 05 2004 at 5:50 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Anybody else think they are trying to get you burned out on the game so you will move to EQ2? The stuff dropping now seems to make the game boring for people...what could you possibly hope to get as an upgrade to an item like this? Have seen this marketing strategy before...so it doesnt surprise me.

might be a move to push us to EQ2. It honestly does not matter tho unless they come out with something good rather quick for eq2 i see nothing stoping me from picking World of Warcraft over it. But then again i am cheap i will not pay for more then one online game at a time sence the one i pick normally gets all my time

There is no more Verant in EQ. Its all about Sony now...been that way for a while.
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 05 2004 at 9:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i agree...they are trying to get us to EQ2 which i probably will do in due time. all of us are prolly gunna go to EQ2 so Verant does't have to start unappealing the game to us for us to switch. it boggles me.

Probably moreso an easier method for equipment-challenged guilds to get to plains they may have been cheated out of in PoP. Lots of unusable content there for many many players (no I'm not one of them). Couple items that are comparable to elemental drops for one-group events with the rumor of level 70 in the next expansion.. That is a sure recipe for burnout for the serious players, and oh wow, eq2 is right there. With the playability issues that have intensified in frequency and duration over the past couple years SOE's greatest competition for continued players is themselves. But I think they already get that.

TT 1hb in potime, 1hander in ikkinz, lots of better items. If you look at it this is really just the 1 group pofire mace with 1 or 2 delay lower and proc.

Personally I think it is about time that a single group can get the better equipment. Most of the ppl that play this game acually have lives that keep them from play 20 to 40 hrs a week. So it is nice to see that all of those ppl will be able to get a shot at some of the best gear. This a game folks, not life, I am not paying just to know that I will never be able to get the good gear because I have a life. Flame away.

Bah you can play eq for 40+ hours a week and have a life. Its the people that buy pp or toons at websites or cheat using showeq or some other third party program like a macro program or people that play for days straight with out sleep that are the ones without a life.

Okay so maybe people in raiding guilds don't have a life but they make up for all the shortcomings in life with an online fantasy toon that is better then the average toon. No need to get upset about it though. Take pride that you have a rl just as much as they take pride in having a fantasy toon with uber pixel gear.

I've been playing this game for years now, and it's just gotten to the point where i say to myself, why bother? It's just an endless grind to go from one uber mob to the other with a few quests thrown in between. I want to play Ever "Quest" not Ever "Lets get a big group of people together to kill a big mob with little or no strategy so we can get gear that is just like the gear we just had only a little better." What's the point? The game has its fun points but overall its just gotten redundant to the point of driving me comatose. Maybe EQ 2 will be innovative enough to break the grind cycle and actually put the Quest and fun back in this game, but i'm not holding my breath.

I think competition has kinda made the game essentially what your saying as well. Tonight I helped a friend get his Ssraa shard, and in all aspects everyone says that this is a suckie process, but really it was fun just having 2 buddies hang out kill some mobs and talk about stupid stuff while trying get the item. Then when it dropped an hour or two later it felt great. I think when you aren't having to run against a clock or fight for spawns, you can enjoy the game as was most likely intended to be, a slow, but fun journey that you make some interesting friends along the way.

I don't know if I really had a major point to make, and I saw the guy i'm replying too had bad poster rating despite his very inciteful remarks, but just another idea throw in ring, while I sit here waiting on my group to rebuff after screwup in Vx'ed
