My necro was in BB factioning and the Splitpaw Refugee spawned. Dropped this pelt. Only mentioning it as this mob is not on the list of mobs that supposedly drop it in BB.

I can not find the blackburrow gnoll pelts in the hut in Qeynos. So where do you get them?

It cannot be emphasized enough - for the truly tough items, check out the vendors. I got both of my pelts off of the smithing sales hut in Qeynos Hills. I killed legions of gnolls to no avail. I am on FV, so I cannot say with any certainty that they are saleable on other servers, but the items that *are* are worth shopping for. Cost me 6 gold, each.

This is used in the Qeynos Bard Newbie armour quests for the Boots.
Also, does anyone know where Throwing Spears or Lock of Scarecrow Straw drop? These 2 items also needed for Newbie armour.

Throwing spears are sold at Nesiff's Weapons - a shop in Qeynos. Scarecrow straw drops from scarecrows in WK.

The ruined black borrow pelts are used to make newbie warriors boots in Qeynos. Human warrior only so if you see one you might make a couple pp off it.

The Blackburrow Gnoll 'Skins' are also used in the Rogue Remdemption quest. Four are needed and I was only able to get one. So, do not destroy these or sell to a vendor. There is a rogue out there, like me, who will pay for them.

I know that last night, my baby cleric was in desperate need of a ruined pelt... sure, when I was actually there fighting, I destroyed dozens without knowing. Some of the new class specific newbie armor requires a ruined pelt, as I'm sure other quests do. Sometimes you will get lucky and find someone willing to pay the pp for an item you are about to destroy. Although, I wouldn't tie up valuable storage space in your bags waiting for someone to come along... no need keeping 3 backpacks full.

There are skins and there are pelts. I think the skins are the ones that sell for between 10pp and 20pp. Never really got anything for pelts. Get 'em off elites and up in BB. Skins much more rare than pelts.

Maybe I got it wrong, but someone offered me 10 pp for one of these...the weight stat is wrong, it weighs 3.5. Why do people want them?
