I have tried hunting qinimi. Maybe I have had crap luck, but I have been unable to land a snare on anything. I tried hunting the noc mobs and got resisted 4 times in a row and finnally had to zone. I healed up and came back and got 2 more snare resists in a row. Finnally I said heck with em and left.
Id love to get these for my 53 enchanter. Focus effect would help out, and for those of us that don't get to hunt the big stuff those are very good caster stats. Nothing I know of that is buyable with better enchanter stats.
So how rare of a drop are these? I imagine pretty rare?

After a few days of hunting around the Zl in Qinimi, I've yet to see these drop, so I would rate them as rare at best. The focus effect on these is unfortunately not very useful, because I don't imagine very many sub-60 chracters being able to handle qinimi with any sort of success. Perhaps I am wrong, but I've found that a rather solid post 60 group is needed to handle the mobs with any sort of sucess, especially the named which tend to wander a lot and add easily. So these are basically limited to being alt gloves :(
I am 65 necro. I hunt these easily solo and for good exp. I would definately wear these gloves over my SS gloves, better resists, extra mana and mana preserve III takes 10% several spells I still use:
Death Peace (FD)
QVoX (Harmshield)
Touch of Night (this makes it more efficient than touch of Mujaki)
Mind Wrack (group mana tap)
CONJURE CORPSE (which is huge if you don't have ss or thurg robe)
Fear (for when ya still use it)
Twitch
Crippling claudication
Skin like shadow
Levant
Succ of shadows
Deflux
Annul Magic
So don't go saying that the effect is useless. IF you don't have mana preserve IV (which I still don't) then these gloves would be a very welcome thing indeed.
Just cus you didn't get a rare drop in a few days, don't put it down as useless.

Got a pair off A Noc Havocblade (Qinimi). He was one of the closest mob to the Natimbi zoneline.

Again, another near useless focus effect. I understand the required lvl of 51 on the item, and the No Drop status, but coming from Qinimi???????? Very few sub-60 characters will be doing this zone, and the people that do adventure in this zone will have far better than this, if not a Mana Pres. 4 item already. Plus, few will be using sub-level 60 spells.
Some of the effects on these new items should have been re-thought a little, or the items should have been droppable.

Just FYI group of mid 50's w/ 65 Warrior tanking. We love the drops and warr love the attention.

Just had one drop. They went to the 56 necro in the group. Also had a 54 pally with us. We were hunting right at zone in and the mob was pretty easy, so I can see quite a few of these going to lvl 50-60 toons.
Qinimi's probably the easiest zone to hunt in, apart from Natimbi. I highly doubt only 61+ people hang out there. Besides, it drops off a trash mob in a relatively easy zone. You're not going to get amazing items off them.

Actually, I have found Qinimi to be easier than Natimbi to hunt in. Granted the mobs are a little tougher here, but there are fewer adds, and more (and better defined) pull spots.
