I just got this shield today and am totally excited! it bumped me up from FT5 to FT11 :) I think its a great shield for any class listed as it has stats that benefit each class very well. Everyone can use the hp and mana that is listed as well as the FT. Cracks me up how there is always the "this class should get it first" discussion... FYI my husband was botting me and I got it because it was gonna rot if someone didnt loot it. VT always happens when I am at work :(
<Chuckle> Everyone is always gonna have to agree to disagree. Baggy, 65 shaman, always has at least 4 different dot's going (if the mob can be diseased or poisoned) is on RGC duty, spot heals his group (cleric is in rotation and busy eating Cheetos)and reassures the melee they're lubbed as well as sending in his dawg to bite the bugger on the fundament. Of course in any long fight I keep running out of mana even with canni V. Guess who I think needs this? :)
On recent VT raids I was able to keep 2 dots (not counting epic), pet, buffs (including FA), and mainhealing for my grp w/ FT 1 and a 3800 mana pool...

I know it's a strange concept, but if a class is listed on an item, chances are they deserve it just as much as the next person.
Yes a guild benefits most from having clerics and wizards with high FT. But that doesn't outright eliminate another class' rights to this shield.
A guild will figure out how best to award it, either via DKP (point system) or by Loot Council. I swear, any time I go to any thread about an item with priests and casters on it, there's 30 posts about "omg this is such a chanter item" or whatever.
So, in short, stuff it. I doubt any guild leaders of guilds capable of this zone are going to look at your post and say "Hmm. They're right. This IS a chanter shield, I'm not gonna give it to that cleric"
Now go ahead and rate me poorly for my opinion of your opinions. I realize my opinion means as little as yours, but I'm sure quite a few people will agree with me.

Just have to say this is the most intelligent post I've seen in a long time. I think this phrase should be a disclaimer on all threads where someone decides to post that a specific class deserves said item over another class.

Posted: Jun 11 2003 at 12:55 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This should go to INT casters over priests simply because the Sheild of Shisraza off HP has comparable stats, is FT6 and CLR DRU SHM only. The INT caster FT6 shield from Ssra has comprably crap stats and seems to be alot rarer of a drop than HP shield, so I would assign them priority on this item.
On Fennin Ro, the HP spawn is much more hotly contested than a full VT pop. I personally know more people with this shield than I do people with the HP shield. Just food for thought . .

Sorry guys i just care bout druids and the FT i need to get me ;)
On Quellious all but one of the Vex Thal capable guilds is on some version of the points system....so it goes to whomever has the most/bids the most/or bids and is decided earned depending on the system....or if your in the one guild, it goes to whomever it is awarded...however some mistakes are made that way, like a warrior getting the bone-chill shield <ouch>

It should go to the main casters first (int/wiz casters). Hybrids don't need it nearly so much as prim casters. Hybrids have that big crowbar they call a sword; casters don't...nuff said

Things like c3 allow my to replace the shaman as a healer and in some cases the druid too and i''m the perfect cleric backup in a pinch. Besides, most of the casters I know use 2HB or a couple books. Are yougoing to tell me that i don't deserve this item if I earn it by tanking this Mob?
You won't ever get it, because you wont EVER be tanking this mob.
though it doesnt matter what people think in these posts since they will not change the minds of the UBAH guilds that can take down GANGSTA mobs like this, i think his point was that primary casters are useless w/o mana while pally's still can use their weap and not be useless waiting for their mana to get back up, though i wont tell u ur wrong about the Pally healing thing, u DO get nice heals and can outheal any druid lower then 58 (not sure about shammys) if ur 61/62+ i think that pallys got some NICE healing powers and druids/shammys need to get a group heal as well, even if its a crappy one, the aggro i get from healing AE damage by casting natures touch on all members in me group is just stupid, not that anything i say here will affect VI so ill just shut up now

Stupid comments all the time about "this should go to this class and this should go to that class". This spam doesnt help people on getting infos. The guilds getting this stuff have their rules who gets what. Most of the time discussions are useless because each class knows what is good for them.

What "info" would you prefer having us post?
Well,... respawn times, likelyhood of dropping it, schemes for taking out Kaas Thox Xi Aten Ha Ra would all be useful... mind you, as the above is a resident of Vex Thal you'll have to be on a high level raid or similar to pick this item up in the first place, in which case I would guess which ever guild you belong to has its own policies for dishing out this equipment, so the 'who should have this' argument is fairly pointless anyway...

It's definately good for anyone.. though a Pal/Sk would use a 2hs or 2hb more often than 1hs/1hb. I got the first one on Brell.. and I'm a necro.. so this shield doesn't go to anyone specifically.

the shield went to me, and i am a wizzurdd, so no shield for JUU,
U all are nuts .. this shield says Chanter all over it.
Everyone would benifit from this but this is a must for a chanter to get.

why? because it has + 10 cha? By the time you get this... a chanters Charisma will be maxed or close to it.. so this shield will make no diff.. anyone can use charisma..

Even if a chanter has maxxed int/cha, this item is great in that it has HP, ac, and stamina, which are more important to chanters than any other pure caster or priest class besides clerics, plus the int/cha stats will free some other slots up for hp/ac/mana.

HUMMMMMMMM Necro need stamina more than any other intel caster dude. since your cleric and wizzy are always in need for mana and that the Seduction of Saryrn do us 63dom every tick is kinda annoying i rather max Stamina. If you run OOM first you might think about mana management and if your guild have only 1 enc to mez well...............

BTW when you get to make that gear drop, there should be a long time that your guild is on a point system for drop, so whoever bid the more get it . Have a problem with that ..............

This shield goes to cleric w/o a doubt. True it doesn't have a lot of wis, but if you're a strong enough to be in vex thal, you probably have had your wis beyond maxed for quite some time. Flowing Thought VI absolutely must go to cleric or wizard, especially when you have those long duration fights (upwards of 30 minutes) and need every little extra bit of mana that you can squeeze out.
This would NOT go to a sk/pal because if they're using their spells enough to need FT VI, they're probably gaining too much agro. Besides, what SK/Pally in his/her right mind isn't going to be using their 2hs they picked up recently in Ssra/VT/Seru?

This shield WOULD be awesome on a Pally or SK, but aren't they mainly supposed to have 2hs?
All I can say is - WOW!
before anyone starts throwing out class comparisons, I think it is fair to say that it would be equally useful to any of the classes listed, although the preists and regular casters might be preferred looters, seeing as how they use better spells overall.
