Assuming you are hunting in Natimbi anyway, this is a rather nice bonus for killing stonemites along with your tureptras and hynids.

Comparing it to the Qeynos Badge of Nobility tho (QBoN has a little less AC, more hp/mana/endurance, see invis effect, and no req/rec level) it seems a bit high on the level ranges.

If it were reduced by even 5/5 rec/req and the drops moved to creatures similarly lower (yes, would have to be in another zone), it would be really great.

As it stands, the QBoN stays on my characters. :) All of them get it since it is one of the most interesting quest series in the game. .. arresting NPCs, playing a board game with rats...

This quest is MQable
# Jan 12 2005 at 7:38 PM Rating: Decent

A friend and I MQed these pearls today. I handed 3 Intact Stonemite items in, then he handed the Intact Stonemite Legs in and he got the pearls :)

Happy MQing :)

This is a really decent necklace for those poor-as-can-be folks like myself who can't afford stuff with better stats. That said, it's also fairly easy to quest in your spare time.

Just remember folks, if you're doing this quest and you get a duplicate drop (say, an Intact Eye and you already have one), please remember to announce these. You might not be the only person in the zone questing it, and who knows when somebody else might have those intact legs drop that you've been looking for for a week.
MQ?

Does anyone know if the different parts are MQ'able?
Good Quest IMO

This is a good quest the hardest part to get is the meat I did this with my ranger solo with the new patch the non kos ANIMALS are great to kill i dont even have to fear them and they only hit me for 120 max did the quest in bout 2 1/2 hrs the mobs spawn all over the zone shores and dont assist eachother , they con dubi to me so didnt do wolf form but was a fun quest /track /kill /track /kill
Level required

It's a required level of 45. Not a bad necklace, they are rare drop items though. I recommend 50's groups honestly for safety.

From what I saw, the stonemites were pretty gimpy, and a full group of 30s could easily pull them right by the magus to kill, and have a hotkey with...

LOL, yeah I was just thinking to myself (as I helped derail the second train to camp in 5 minutes), that what the camp in Natimbi could really use is more people over their heads pulling into the camp and then disappearing, leaving an angry mob that already has an aggro list from being pulled over people in the middle of the camp.

That is exactly how I died, sitting there minding my own business and next thing I know...2 mobs are beating on my back hitting me for 200-300+. I start running, now Im at 50% health, and of course the mobs are fast so they keep hitting me as I run around trying to lose them....LOADING, PLEASE WAIT :/

As annoying as it would be for those of us who are not training the camp, I would really like to see a delay timer on the Magus. Say something like 15 seconds. Annoying, yes. However, it would put an end to the trains, I hope. I see countless trains hourly in Natimbi.

And another thing, anybody who's "good hunting idea" is to pull mobs to a spot where they can just bail out leaving an angry mob in the midst of unsuspecting people has probably never had a legitimately good idea in their entire life. That is categorically a BAD IDEA and should be grounds for suspention as it is just a shade away from intentionally training people.

Timer on Magus is a bad idea. Imagine some nice person *calls* a train to Magus, you run over, say the magic words, and 10 seconds later you're dead. :P

If you're getting trained in this manner, a better idea would involve some calculating by you: stay far enough from the magus to be clear of aggro range. Also: those mobs do not see invis. I use 'hide' and become indifferent to them.

works like a charm, keeps you alive. lets people zone instead of dying. which is good.

That's great, except for the people who zone into the midst of the angry mobs, or who don't have the ability to hide or invis, or who are simply selling their vendor trash to the magus or there trying to complete one of the various quests.

Hmm, maybe it's not our calculations that were the problem after all.

It would appear that this was such a problem that SOE had to make most of the lower level mobs in the zone non-aggro. The people running trains to (or deliberately pulling their mobs into the camp to fight) were making it virtually unusable.

Turepta Cragwalkers drop better collars and necklaces, non no-drop, and have effects like FT1 or Aura of Courage. Better stats too.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 19 2004 at 4:48 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ok but why is this a no-drop item? =P

#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 22 2004 at 12:40 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yeah, shame on sony, for making a quest where there is actually risk involved.

First of all, leaving angry mobs at the Magus is not a good idea unless you warn people.

Second, wouldn't you want to go to Nederia, where you could go right back to Natimbi once the mobs have had time to jump the other unsuspecting people around Magus.

Perhaps a better script would be:
/ooc TRAIN TO MAGUS
/attack off
/tar Magus
/say Nederia

And no, even with a Cleric in the group, 30's would have a very tough time. The Stonemites have a DoT that lasts for twenty minutes (at least is seems like it) doing little bits of damage to you. It's a real pain (LOL). I've easily fear kited them but even in that one or two hits you can take fear kiting I get the Stonemite Acid, which more than counteracts my 4 hp/tick regen for a LONG time.

The dot lasts 15 minutes. I tried to use cure poison and cure disease spells to get it off but it didn't work. I even cast multiple times to no avail. I didn't try remove curse though. I decided to conserve mana and just ignore it. Fortunately for me it barely did anything. I only had Faith and Blessed Armor of the Risen (both noncomponent buffs) on, but I am newly dinged 65... Next time I go back I'll have to find out if remove curse works.
I agree about the hotkey. A friend of mine accidentally got my level 33 druid killed when he was fleeing to the magus. He didn't realize anyone was there. He stopped and tried to get it to backtrack to leave me alone, but it had him for dinner and then used me to pick it's teeth. When I went back I stayed in hide mode. It was still fun seeing how long I would last there at that level (no I wasn't hunting, I was there to forage).
Don't mind me, I just woke up and am blabbering on.
Maybe I'll see you online Aquendar. :-)
