My girlfriend and I, both 68 rangers, tried our luck for our first time here tonight. After we got the hang of things, we simultaneously activated our Lessons of the Devoted...and not one but two of the masks dropped before they were over! One came off a pooka, the other off a hynid. They were upgrades for both of us. Nice item for bazaar-equipped duoing rangers to obtain for themselves.
After all the time I have spent in Vxed I have seen this drop 2 times. Once was during a regular expedition, and the other was during a Paladin 1.5 Raid shortly before the boss. I don't recall the specific mobs though.
Just got one off a mountain pooka, halfway through doing my 25th AA in Vxed, so about 250 kills.

Ok, I just edited out all of the progress I had recently been updating...Has anyone seen this at all recently? I am WELL over 1500 kills and nothing. I just quit keeping track at all. Could easily be over 2000 kills here. I have done a huge portion of level 66-69 here, and I have gotten over 140 AAs here alone...It isn't even a hot item anymore with the stuff you can get in the newer expansions...but that fact that it hasn't dropped is just driving me insane.

Saying this is a rare drop just doesn't do it justice.
I started taking my ranger to Vxed to solo at level 69. While grinding my 20th AA, one dropped for me. To date, I've grinded a total of 54 AAs, went from 10 percent into 69 to 30 percent into level 70 (all while in Vxed), and I've still only had the one mask drop for me.
So, it's safe to say that this mask is un-frikin-believably rare. It is a very nice mask though; was an upgrade for me from the Eyepatch of Plunder. If you do manage to get one, count yourself among the extremely fortunate ones.

I've gotten all the pieces for the BiC quest and at least about 40 AAs and most recently did about 70% of Level 69 --> 70 and have yet to see this drop.
If you were planning on strolling in there and camping this, think again. Those people that got this item within a few kills were exceptionally lucky. Those people should play the lottery.
I'm sure I'll see it drop eventually since this is one of my favorite places to churn AA solo. Nothing like a nice quiet zone with no trains, etc. to solo in.
Edit: Wouldn't you know it, about 5 mobs after I ding 70 a Mountain Pooka congratulates me by dropping this mask.

This thing just dropped for me off one of the ghosts in vxed. not listed as dropping off them. actually, barely anything is listed as dropping off them. i got almost all the peices for BoC off the ghosts a bunch of gems and a few words too.

Mine dropped within my first 20 kills in vxed /shrug

I'm still looking for this item after 1040 kills soloing here, still not seen it drop. As others have said, Don't expect to get this thing quickly.

Got mine today. Took about 25-30AA before it dropped so dont go expecting to get one.

I killed now almost 400 of the hynids and pookas, made over 30AAs and 65 to 66 in Vxed, but this nice thing never dropped.
I am afraid sony changed the droplist with the oow release (they did it for sure, because after the patch the pookas drop other things than before), and deleted the mask from the droplist.
Can someone confirm a drop of this mask after the oow release?

Yes it still drops. I got one last night (10-6-04), dropped off a Pooka near the zone in.

got mine after the third time round. Lucky me the rest of the group was in the servers elite guild and wasnt upgraded by it.

Finally got my mask after 50aa..If you want to get this mask, be prepared for LONG camp..

Soloed the zone-in for the first time yesterday. The mask dropped off about the 6th mob -- hynid ravager.

Solo'd this zone for over a month now..killing atleast 50 mobs a day and have not seen one :(
Got one off the second mob in the zone we killed, a stonemite... Definately just random.

This mask is a BEAST! The simple fact that it drops off a non named mob is what makes it interesting. Cause when you kill one you can't wait to loot it to see what its got. Awesome mask for any class right here. Great Stats and HP + Mana.
Not that I disagree, I'm a druid with this mask and I absolutely love it...but for melee classes you'd think they'd throw some strength on this mask. Yes, I realize at this point they possibly have strength maxed without a face item, but I would just think strength would be a part of the mask.
Don't get me wrong, still a PHENOMINAL item. Very happy with mine. Rar druid with Vengeance V!

Saw one drop from a granite worker type mob from the bridge area. My condolences to Skyedorf for your crappy roll muahahaha >:D Also, the random "trash" drops seem to be better than the stuff the names drop.
Had two of these drop in Vxed in one trial last night. One off of a Kyv Eyecollector and one from a Cragbeast. Seems to be random rare drop off of any zone trash.
Have done 4 trails in here succesfully and still have not seen a single one of these.

I have done 4-5 runs and seen just 1 drop so far, from a random pooka.
