Lucky me...

I bought 2 of these way way back when they were pretty cheap. I think I paid a couple K for each one. I bought the first one for my necro before he could even use it..back when the EC Tunnels were the place everyone sold stuff. Anyway, when my nec discovered how godly a toy this was, I decided to get one for my SK too. Now, many years later.. I still have both of them. I recently returned to the game following a 3 year vacation and was thinking I would sell the one on my necro after I ground out 12 AA for the instant invis AA.. then I started reading on some of the forums about the failings of the AA vs a pre-nerf COS.. and decided to just keep the COS..

But I do have to agree, one would just not know how incredible a toy this is if you never had one. It has allowed my necro to be a godly puller.. not to mention what I can do with my SK. My accounts will both go to their graves clutching these 2 items.

Cheers All

I paid 70k for this thing three years ago. Used it on my Necro and is now on my SK. I had someone offer me 400k yesterday and kept asking and asking. The answer was and will forever be no, not for 5 million plat. I am so used to using it that I look for the darn icon on my hotbar on my shammy sometimes...lol.
amazing

I remember when i got one of these when it still dropped.. was common.. was only selling for about 10k.. bought one for my necro.. This is the most amazing item ever for a necro when travelling.. insta cast. They reason they took it out is because they introduced AA's to the game.. and it was pointless to buy the Insta-cast camo from the class AA's.. and they wanted that being used.. thats why they took it out of the game.. and because it was too uber.. never had to worry about being afraid to run around places as a necro anymore =)

when they took this out it was long before the instant cast invis AA's were even around, save for the necro's invis to undead one (which they still would have been using, since gather shadows does not protect against undead sight). the other invis AA's came during DoD

COS..pre nerf

I have a 66 necro on Povar and I would sell my first born before parting with my CoS. I can't count the number of times running through zone and ..."you are starting to appear" and you are running through mobs that would squish you. I calmly hit 9 to cast my CoS as I am running and poof I am invis before I can be seen. You do not need to be still so its a life saver. And as far as the FD to invis...it works... Was kiting at the taples in fire and had to fd and said mob camped on me...I waited a sec then stood and invis and he did not agro. GL to any who own the pre nerf version cause I would not part with mine for any amount of plat.

#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 11 2004 at 11:07 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) if not dropped anymore why weren't all the Circlet of Shadow nerfed??? they sure don't have a prob nerfing something less or taking something away from spells or adding to it, meaning all of it, rant off, but never would i give 180k, would rather just get killed lol, freak its just a game, man. :))
Ahahaha!

See now theres this thing, ya all seem to think the coolest part of this is being able to invis while something is standing over you right after standing up from feign and it not getting agro...yer missing the BEST part. The invis is FASTER then that, if you time it JUST right (hitting stand and invis buttons at ALMOST the exact same time...) and said mob doesnt see invis....it will never register you stood up at all until invis breaks. you go from conning indif to conning indif so fast it thinks yer still feigned. lets say the mob is a roamer, prior to the feign death changes it would never have forgotten about you no matter how long you stayed feigned. if you stood up and cast a normal invis, even if its not near you, it will damn sure remember you and come running soon as its near ya, but if you use a prenerf CoS, it will think yer still feigned as long as the invis holds up...very handy for making quick getaways prior to the feign death changes....not so much anymore
Worth it?
# Jun 06 2004 at 4:35 PM Rating: Default
Yes confirmed the bug on this SPECIFIC item is that when yuo feign death you can cast gather shadows on the item and run along like nothing happened instead of waiting for aggro to go off. This is only alittle bug that barely will help you! It's not worth it unless you have alot of money to waste and nothing better to do then feign death and invis and go muahaha I didn't have to wait 3 more seconds for it to lose aggro. The only way this could be amazing is in a duel, but monsters can target you even if your untargetable... It's called see-invis

You clearly don't get it. If you have to FD off a NPC and it camps on top of you, you can stand and click this invis before it has time to get aggro.

If you don't have one, you'll never understand how good it is to have. Totally worth 100K or more.

#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 05 2004 at 5:10 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) 3 months ago average price on Tarew Marr for this item was anywhere between 10-30k, now cheapest one i've seen has been 130-150k, people need to put a stop to all the price inflations, quit buyin your plat and earn it like the rest of us.
RE: idiots
# Jul 23 2004 at 2:19 PM Rating: Default
The only 'idiot' here is you. This item no longer drops. It is getting rarer and rarer to attain, and thus the price goes up because fewer and fewer people are willing to part with it. It's a spectacular item, and I would snatch one up given the chance.
the lowdown
# May 24 2004 at 7:40 PM Rating: Decent
Doesn't drop anymore. Worth 200K easy. When invis, that means you're untargetable. I also heard (unverified) that if you're feign death and a mob is standing over you, you can cast invis before the mob notices you getting up.
