more of a rare drop. i got several namers but no Lute. 4day so far fri sat sun mon still no lute. off work 2 days and just doing ph and afk. done hundred ph at least. had a good run of namers but 25 in arow no namer.
Ive camped here for about a week, sometimes up to 7 hours at a time, At least 200 ph's, out of which only about 8 named have spawned.. The named drops the ear everytime, Only spawns in 1 place, and is a 20 min spawn.
Just wondering if anyone had seen this since 2010 ?
Ok, after 4 days of 12 hour straight camping just leaving my dps merc on burn and walking off, I dropped over 140 ph's and about 25 named spawns total.
I even petitioned since it just seemed ridiculously long. The GM explained that the item was still dropping, and that's about it. Prior to my petition every single named dropped the ear, never a finger ring. After the petition it began dropping the finger, after 7 more finger rots and 1 or 2 ears, the lute dropped, 9 hours into the 4th day.
Hope you get luckier then I did. In my 13+ years in eq, this was the most aggravating camp I've seen, and that includes your old world 3 day spawns.
Try the merc trick, it's nice. Park your pc, pop a dps merc, check back.. It will keep you from pulling your hair out. Dps on these mobs is so small you wont need heals.
Took some time to loot one of these. Went afk 1x snare song running. Seems one wounded mob wandered back to boss room & they all came ! Got back just as merc went down. She is used to it. I ran & chain faded :+). About 15 PH & 6 named 5 earrings 1 Lute :+) Grats Me
Servers came up today, so figured it's a good time as any to try some more time on camping this baby. ran through, he was up! killed him, and saw the lute on him and my heart skipped a beat lol. tons of time camping this but WELL worth the perma levi recently about 15 hours camped. but over all, I'd say more like 40 hours
After months of off and on camping It finally dropped last night, what a massive PITA but I guess it kept my attention and gave me something to do :) Now on to the next long camp :)
After reading the following posts, I decided it was going to be a vigorous camp. Also talked to the last person who did it (and got lute) on server, took them 6 days. Did it with an 81mage, absolutely no problems. With merc pet could tank the named and as many trash mobs I could find w/o a sweat (just for reference of the mobs, also brought my 76 bard there who even with **** DPS took down the room AND the named, just much faster with mage) After probably 6 hours of off n on camping, it dropped =). -KYV -KYV -NAMED (Earring) -ANUEK -ANUEK -KYV -KYV -KYV -NAMED (Earring) -NAMED (Earring) -KYV -KYV -NAMED (LUTE BABY!)
So 13th spawn cycle. It is 19:40-20min respawn time which sucks, and as long as you clear the roaming kyv (see invis) you should have zero adds for named. On the way there I found 1 other see invis mob just at the TIP of the V hallway (the named is on the lower right side of the 'V.)
Uber easy drop for perma lev and a sweet illusion =)
well i looted this baby today and boy am i glad for it - sick of clicking those darn boots. its a tough camp. be sure to bring a shrink wand or shrink potions with you. my twist consisted of mitigation songs, a snare and bellow of chaos for interrupts since the named can't be mezzed and likes to cast complete heal. Voice of the Vampire charms down there but before you begin killing the PH, figure out which local mobs charm - the roamer is the best target. if he doesn't charm, kill him off so his replacement DOES charm. charmed DPS is the way to go for the named. beware of your pet getting low health and going on his death walk when charm breaks, you'll get constant aggro which only camping out for 5 minutes seems to cure. finally, use the water for safety when you're going afk/camping out.
Just like the assling mask, they are on 19 minute 30 second timers, but compared to the assling mask, this was so much easier for me.
It IS safe 98% of the time to shrink and hide behind the pillar to break line of sight if you want to set a campfire or camp a mage there for CoH. I only ran into one problem where I got aggro somehow, but just faded with bard and gated the rest.
44k mana blaze OHKO's this guy so not too much HP. Hit's pretty darned hard though.
He and his placeholder always see-invis. The roamer doesn't always see-invis.
To get to this guy--it's easiest from Barindu--invis as much as you can; killing enough mobs will spawn the Weapon Master in your way.
Well , most bards will agree this item is huge to own. ******** around with singing boots for a paltry 5 mins of levi is a pain in the **** , as is going around begging FOE / DMF. With MoD this item is priceless.
I finally got my lute today , thanks to those on this thread that made it easy to find. Massive thanks to my clannies Doc , Sanzii and Fonthin.
Camped this guy for like 4 months straight back before OOW and DON. Hardest and longest part was getting a group down there and then something always going wrong while down there. Recently have been duoing this camp with myself and a level 62 cleric. Sometimes bring along a snarer too. She enjoys the flying XP and I patiently wait for this gem to drop. There are ways to get all the way down there with a cleric with very minimal clearing. For now I keep waiting and hoping! This camp sure isn't for the faint of heart. I already have the water elemental, fire elemental, the earth elemental is very easy to get so not worried much bout that one. Just one of those camps ya gotta keep hammering away at. I'm sure in 1 or 2 more expansions this will be soloable as it almost already is for me. Good hunting bards...
Got this lute tonight after thinking it was never going to drop. Camped the name and the camp over 50 hours. Killed the named about 6 to 8 times before this lute dropped. The camp is best if you have a fast DPS group as the Hexxt N'vak can hit up to 1500 but not often since he casts a lot and heals himself a lot. He spawns in the path south east of the room where Hexxt Pzak spawns, and his PHs are kyvs or one of the aneuk seers. There are a few roamers so best to pull mobs to the NW corner of the room where Pzak is and kill there then once the roamers are dead move up to N'vak so he doesn't gate. I killed N'vak in the Pzak room a few times and he tried to gate but DPS was good enough to kill him before he got the cast off. GL hunting.
For F*ck's sake people why don't you actually try posting some infomation on EQ for a change:
Ferubi is a tricky zone for most, nowadays your best bet for picking up this loot is to head in with a couple groups of clerics looking to collect pages for their epic 1.5 and mages looking to get their heavy water for 1.5. Zone in to Ferubi thru Qinimi or Baridnu entrance, doesn't matter which. Unless you are there with time geared people, it's going to be a long fight thru this zone. Head first to the middle area of the zone where the weapon makers are for the Weapon Master event. Your target location is a hallway leading to a room in the south east portion of the map. You can invis thru most of the zone but there are many points with see invis wanderers so with effective focus you can say mez these see invis so you're group can run past. You might as well just fight there though, it's safer and that's how you will get those eager clerics their epic pages. These raoming mobs are usually ph for named. The ph you need for Hexxt N`Vak Tkan is in a hallway not far from the room in the south eastern most portion of the map.
THANK YOU for a clear and informative post (as clear as it can be for me not knowing Ferubi) that includes how to add incentive for others to explore. (Epic 1.5 drops for other classes, hee hee.)

Also during times when the sun and moon are closly lined up with the moon (ie. solor eclipes, lunor eclipes) it can cause much larger tides and potential storms.
I feel stupid arguing symantics over a video game. But being a metorologist I can safly say. The moon causes tides. When the tides are formed it causes the water to be displaced in several area's. When the water is displaced, new water moves to fill it creating a wave. The motion of the water creates wind and the wind creates larger waves. We see the largest storms at sea when the moon is closest to the earth. And most commonly storms at sea start in places covered by night.

In hindsight I did word that improperly. While the moon and its gravitational pull does in fact create the waves, wind (or lack of) directly impacts intensity of the waves/tides. Regardless, it is rather clever.
WHAT..I repeat...WHAT kinda of mufickin crack are you people smokin! Listen at yourselves bickering about the gravitational pull of the moon on a lute thread lmao....You smoke crack...not chew it! lol That aint rock candy.
