This aug gives about 2 percent mana preservation on all evocation spells. It drops the average cost of Bolt of Molten Scoria Rk. III (base cost of 1141m) on my magician from 727 to 705 mana. During a long raid fight, with 50 or more more nukes probable, I'd have to have an aug with AT LEAST 800m on it to replace it.

Now, this is a very nice augment, but where and who drops it? And more importantly, who am I going to pay to get me one! lol
This looks to be from a Time level raid. The only items that have slot 8 as a type are items from Plane of Time, as far as I have seen. The description of the item says that it is a result of a raid event.

There are items NOT from Time that have type 8 slots. Here is an example of one. https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=25257 (if link doesnt work, its the "Faded Gloves of the Shadows"). They drop in Mistmoore Caverns off what is listed as "high risk time-level" raid. But yes the overwhelming majority of slot 8 items are from Time.

Well let me rephrase that, only items with a type 8 slot are from Plane of Time or LDoN raids with the Time Level Difficulty. :)
