How LDoN points work, with your teacher Joe Ogre!
# Sep 03 2004 at 8:33 AM Rating: Excellent
It seems that after all this time some people still dont understand LDoN points, so here is the answer.

Once you have earned enough points to buy a LDoN item at a camp you can buy as many LDoN items from that camp as you want with points earned from any camp, solong as your points earned at that camp meet or exceed the point cost of the item.

The most points anything costs on the date of this post is 1492. Therefore once you have earned 1492 points at a LDoN camp you can buy ANY item at that camp provided you have enough points from any camp.

For those of you who still dont get it (or just the mentally handicapped):
Example
Joe Ogre is a lvl 25 Warrior, Joe has done 20 LDoNs! Joe Ogre says "WHEEEE. JOE SMASH!"
Joe has 20 LDoN points
10 from BB LDoNs
5 from EF LDoNs
5 from NRo LDoNs

Joe wants to buy Sand-Encrusted Hammer
but Joe only has 5 whole LDoN points from EF /em cries!

In his sad and dejected state he wanders over to the BB LDoN camp (He still has to get that adventurers stone dontcha know! But thats like a QUEST!)

He finds to his shock that he CAN buy BOTH
Bloodstained Hammer

and
Decaying Visor
After all he earned the minimum 10 points from BB, and had the required 20 total points needed to buy the items.
Joe Ogre is now L33T UBER!!! or is that UBER 133t!

Joe Ogre says "Duh, 'Dat sure wuz HARD math, but me feels better now dat me dun it! JOE SMASH!"

Mate, try reading the item description.
Like : Bought in EAST COMMONLANDS. With the sole exception of the talismans for 1-6 APs, which are sold everywhere, all items can only be bought on the respective adv merchant and only with APs gotten from the respective setting.
( Yes, I know about the exception some time ago ( rage armor ) but that was removed ! )

To answer your question - this can only be bought by doing several rujarkian adventures - good luck hunting !

Yes and no.

When you complete an adventure, you get points. The number of points you get is added to two totals. One of these totals is the number of Available Points that you have to spend. The other is the total points you've earned in that theme.

Unless the item you want to buy is not theme specific (most items are, the 1-6 point augs are perfect examples of items that are not), two conditions must be met for you to buy an item:
A) Your Points Available must equal or exceed the point value of the item you want to buy.
B) Your total points earned in the theme must be greater than or equal to the point value of the item you want to buy.
Note that when you buy an item, the points for it are deducted only from the Points Available total, never from the points earned in the theme total. So if you earn the 1150 points required to buy this aug solely in EC's dungeons, and then earn another 1150 points from the other 4 themed, you can buy TWO 1150 point items from EC vendors, though you cannot buy anything costing more than 1150 points from an EC vendor until you do more adventures here.

Exactly, my remark was solely targetted on the fact that you need "theme" APs to buy an item, a fact I thought I had clarified with the mention of the talismans.

Of course, once you have earned "enough" ( usually 1492 AP ) APs in a certain setting ( and thus "unlocked" all items ) you can buy any item from the respective merchant with points gotten from any adventure.

So rather a yes and yes.
