Higher chance of a BP on CT than this thing. Very very rare drop
It's not that rare this thing is usually a rotter........It drops more than the BP ALIMHO
And I still(even after anguish gear) have this wand on me at all times though I usually only equip it when I solo summoning mobs but still it is a must have wizzy item.
On a side note I saw that there are some new DoD pants with clicky FS that all int casters can use(same cast time)

I still use this item sometimes even with a SoS clickable item(yet another GOD LIKE wizzy item for downtimes....) a procing weapon with stats(zum staff) and hopefully soon a 500+Hp/mana staff erm with augs(depending on DKP for 2.0 epic..).

Then to battle for wizard epic golem while hopefully not getting mass death touched by his "big" brothers. And finally to kill the god himself, myself scoring his eye and then his brain. Now finally he holds the last possible upgrade to the mana robe combo a wizard can get. Just got my PoTime key and I'm coming for ya back hair man...

Going to hit CT, Bert, RZ (if all goes smoothly)tonight, I hope this drops. Personally, if I get this for my wiz, I would hardly ever use my epic (not that I do now) The shield on this also regenerates mana. Another attractive aspect of this is the 6.0 seconds cast time. Epic takes way too long to cast.
Hmmm,just cast this and chain a mana robe with no loss of HPs and FT 40..I need this item 8)

This is replacement for wizzy epic- At least Force Field stacks with Beast Crack (i.e. SD)- making this an "improved" wizzy epic

Before complaining, you should click on the spell and see what it is. This is given to Wizards and Necromancers because they are the two classes that can cast this spell. In other words, neither class gains anything new - just saves them a spell slot. Mages on the other hand would be gaining a new spell.

a clickable rune gives Necros and Wizards a lot new - because they can basically keep runing themselves with this thing at no mana cost if they have to tank something.

HAHAHA! Cast time = 6 secs. If you are "tanking" a mob that doesn't put out more than 130 DPS (750 / 6 secs) and you can't live through that anyways, you really need to rethink your goals in this game.

Oh yeah, I can just imagine it now. Countless necros constantly petitioning SOE to complain that mages are too powerful.

It's better. The stats majorly outweigh epic, and the effect is better too because it stacks with beastlord manaregen, therefore giving more mana regen than if you were using wizard epic without BL crack.
I have no idea how far into the wizzy epic this drop might be, but would it be possible for a wizzy to get their epic then redo this part to have both weaps? That way when there's no BL handy, they could pop epic on for Mana Regen 3, then switch back to this for the stats? Just a thought... 
that exactly what most of the wizards on the tribunal do who are Time able. They bag the epic since SD and force shield give more mana regen. But if no beast is around they can use the epic due to the higher mana regen on it and larger damage absorbtion.
