Just completed the quest again about 10 minutes ago, on the Brell Serilis server. Not only dropping are "Greater Dragon's Head" dropping, but also "Great Dragon's Head," which many people have asked about. I said ***** it, turned it in, and viola! got myself a new pair of Barbed Dragonscale Boots. SO, the quest will work with the "Great" as well as the "Greater."
Hope this helps everyone with the question regarding what is turned in for and what the head was for. Myself, I've been wondering for a while, I've always seen "Lesser" and "Greater" but wasn't sure on the "Great," and I've built up a few of these as I hit up WW a good twice a week duo'ing shaman/warrior. Hopefully that helps you on the head questions, and good luck all.

you can kill a dragon in sky shrine to get the key to Cobalt Scar, which can also be quested for from the same mob, so i guess this is kind of the same idea.
Bst Usable

These are Bst usable. I know because my 56 Bst wears them.

If you managed to get these for 400pp-2000pp then all I can say is 'DAMN!' I've only once seen these go for less than 8000pp on AB in the Bazaar (and that I think was someone who must have farmed the quest giver - he was selling about 6 of them for 6500pp each) - so I guess at least on these my server price is seriously screwed up :/
Kyenka Drops
# Jun 09 2002 at 12:23 PM Rating: Decent
Last night we had 3 groups hunting in the Tormax area for faction and we killed Kyenka, he dropped the pauldrons. Either someone messed up their quest and gave the pauldrons to him or he does drop the gear that he gives out from quests. FYI

that's correct, killing this mob will normally get you one of the quested items, same for the mob that gives the Frostbringer. So, if you didn't have a Greater Dragon head and wanted these shoulders, a Frostbringer, or the boots, kill the quest mobs, good chances you'll get one.
Just bought these on 4/16/2002...

On Brell for 2000pp. As a monk, these are a tremendous upgrade from the ever-popular Drolvarg Mantle, the extra 1.0 weight is worth the extra stats; and on my monk (Level 35) it also added 21 HP and 17 AC. So, for 2000pp; seemed like a good deal to me. That's all.
ok here is the thing
# Apr 16 2002 at 11:45 PM Rating: Default
why get this when u can get a frost bringer w/ the head hehe any one who does this should get smacked.(another case where ammo solves the prob)

well the Frostbringers aren't that great anymore, weather you're farming them or need one. Like the other person that replied to this post, I need the hp, and for the stamina challanged, 10 sta is very nice. So it really just depends on what you're looking for. They don't weigh that much so monks might be interested in them. Sure they're not Uber if you compair them to the really high end items but these are very attainable. Two groups of 55+ folks can take down the dragons in WW. I've done it with 1 group. I'm quite happy that I finally got a pair.

I got a frostbringer =)

If I get another greater head, you bet I am getting these pauldrons. That's 60hps on a level 60 warrior from the stamina!

Sure I could sell the FB and get another one, but plat don't mean squat when you are working on getting as many hps as you can

seriously this should only be 5k or less no matter if the quest is tough or not, this item is not uber it is decent i would say

HERE IT IS 4AGI=1AC not that good considering but agi also helps your dodge/block/piposte/defense skills increase very slightly faster but that takes a lot of agi

9 AC, 9 AGI.... Monks get AC from agility. And has anyone done a lot of checking on monk shoulder items? No? Well, it's a major pain to get AC in the shoulder slot. Not sure about other classes but this is probably the best droppable shoulder slot item for monkies. Only other contender is Engraved Bone Pauldrons which is 12AC but only 5AGI. Also 3DEX and -20CHA. These puppies have no negative charisma and toss in 10STA, 5STR, and 15SP. Depending on how much AC monkies get from AGI, these could be by far the winner. If there are any monkies out there that DO know how much AC they'd get from 9AGI, please post. Rather interested in finding out. :)

Very good stamina on these which is a hard stat to raise. For an elf or iksar, it is difficult to get stamina to the magic number of 100. Even beyond that, it adds HP.

17k seems a bit high to me too, though.
# Nov 24 2001 at 4:02 PM Rating: Decent
You can kill a good portion of the dragons with a full group of 59/60's. As long as you have some dummy buffs and a few right clickable buffs (like Jboots, Gobbie Earring) you'll be fine.

I just bought these at the tunnel in EC and paid a mere 400p for them...I knew I was getting a deal but I never knew it was this good...can someone please tell me if this is an accurate price for these, or let me know what the average price of this item is...

RE: Dur!
# May 27 2001 at 1:31 PM Rating: Default
Or if you go on dragon faction you can kill the quest giver. He will drop either the boots or the pauldrons.
RE: Dur!
# Nov 16 2001 at 6:35 PM Rating: Default
Why do you figure that? Are you -sure-?
RE: Dur!
# Jan 01 2002 at 2:14 PM Rating: Decent
Thats true of most of the quest givers in kael (i.e frostbringer is a quest...)
RE: Dur!
# Feb 13 2002 at 10:53 AM Rating: Decent
Where is the questgiver located?? i've looked on several maps and this quest giver is not on them, the kill shouldn't be too hard considering the giant is only level 57, but i am concerned about the other giants near it, if there are any or something

Monk tagging would probably work if we knew where he/she was located
