I found this link while searching for pictures of drogmors...

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.eqsummoners.com/eq1/images/blackdrogmor.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.eqsummoners.com/eq1/horses-library.html&h=175&w=284&sz=8&tbnid=3askBak0hC4J:&tbnh=67&tbnw=110&hl=en&start=2&prev=/images%3Fq%3Ddrogmor%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D

It answers questions on speed comparison, cost, benefits, spells while riding mounts, and pretty much anything else you can't find here ;p Have fun!
Speed information...

This is from a post on one of the other drums, not sure how accurate it is: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=19374&mid=10482591553455

Also, someone else was posting about hailing the NPCs that you buy the Drogmoors from, and noticed a good quote.

davidhutchinson wrote:

But to my mind the crucial phrase is 'They can match a horse, hoof step for hoof step'.

So in the spirit of nicking info from somewhere else (care of Zestee):

here are the speeds of the Horses and therefore Drogmor...

9K Rope Bridle = 25% Movement Rate Increase
30K Leather Bridle = 50% Movement Rate Increase
60K Silken Bridle = 60% Movement Rate Increase
100K Chain Bridle = 70% Movement Rate Increase

So, from reading his quote:

SMALL Drums = 25% Movement Rate Increase
Drums (No size name) = 50% Movement Rate Increase
LARGE Drums = 60% Movement Rate Increase
GIANT Drums = 70% Movement Rate Increase

Hope this helps, took me a bit to find all of the info (wish Allak would post the speeds on the effect link or something ... or if not Allak, at least Lucy Smiley: bah)

HORSES SUCK!!!

Just so everyone knows ...... DONT EVER BUY A HORSE!!! Buy a Drogmor instead. The horses big fat head partially blocks your view and is a targetting nightmare. Drogmor heads dont block your view and are every bit as fast as horses. HORSES REALLY, REALLY SUCK!!!

The horse's head hardly gets in the way. It is actually fun to see it there. I have seen your post on every single horse and drogmor page. Get a life and please, STFU.

I agree that the horse head gets in the way. Though you can ask for shrinks; if you're not grping w/a caster & possess no clicky shrinky gear, the horses head is in the way for targeting. It was fun to see the horse head when I first bought the horse, however the uniqueness has worn away. Smiley: twocents

Before you jump on a Dino bandwagon here - if you are shrunk - horses head disappears completely from the screen. For my shammy - I shrink myself down - summon my horse - it was like I was standing up - no issues with targeting at all.

/agree. If you're having issues with targeting, you need to get familliar with the 'target cycling' hotkey, bind it, and use it.
Drogmar

Hey Alla, is there any way you could post Drogmar colors? Since Horses look like horses and the color you buy is the color you get, But drogmars are different then horses and after reading the last 3 comments here would be cool to have an area that you can go to and lets say I want to get a drogmar I could click on a link and all the colors are right there to help me pick out the right one for me instead of hopeing it is the color it says. It is an Idea but I think it would be nice and a helpful tool for those in search of the furless mount.Smiley: chug

Behind the windmill where the gnomes are that sell the Drogmor's is a fenced in enclosure with all of the Drogmor's for you to look at and see the color. The color of the drums do mostly represent the color of the Drogmor... i.e. the Black Drum will net you the Drogmor that is kind of a faded black with deep, dark red stripes on it. It's an easy way for you to check out how you look with them.

I bought a black drum so i could get what i thought would be a black drogmor. Very disapointing how light in color it was. It doesn't even really seem black. Has anyone else had this problem? Its possible its just me.
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 09 2003 at 2:02 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I don't have this item, but why did you think the drogmor would be black? The effect is just 'Summon Drogmor'... the name of an item has no effect on its effect. (No pun intended)

First of all, because a NPC vendor sells them, second of all, the Drum color DOES represent the color of the beast. I love when people who don't have a clue try to sound smart.

I have the same issue, its more of a dark grey with a light red hilight across its hide... its not that big a deal though. It still looks cooler then the others. IMHO.
