Summary of the little bit we know
# Aug 09 2004 at 12:33 AM Rating: Decent
Text from column of the page:
"Mistmoore's Catacombs: Scion Lair of Fury

Raid result, Normal difficulty.

Came from a chest granted access to after killing the boss mobs of the dungeon."

Yes, this item is incredible. I actually found it while looking up items with Slot 3 for my FT2 aug from Everfrost. That alone would make this FT7, almost half the cap.

And, yes, this is ungodly for where it came from, even for a raid. A relatively noobish upper-level guild can take an LDoN raid with ease, especially a normal. I honestly don't think, as a Druid, that there's anything in PoT that I'd perfer over this thing. I'm really waiting for it to be nerfed or no longer dropping.

I'm still in shock at looking at it..I mean, yeah, jeeze! It makes you wonder how rare it is..
From the quote above, we know the source of one of these. In the early Kunark days, the Soloist's Icy Wand (or "Soloist's Frost Wand"?.. something like that..) came from Kurn's Tower, an unquestably noob zone, though was an extreme rare drop. Being on the PvP server, Rallos Zek, I know it was valued like little else in the game at the time. The catch: extreme rarity.
Written half out of shock and half out of sheer boredom, does anyone have an idea to extend about this thing, beyond, of course, all of us drooling?

And, yeah..I really think that someone might have falsified this thing..though, hey, they've done some nutty things before..just check out PoMischief!

I was the one that submitted this item, the chests were not accessable until the boss mobs of the dungeon were dead.

The raid was not particually difficult, although the mobs did hit quite hard

I have seen a pair of gloves that dropped off of a hard raid. pristine jeweled gloves I think they were called seems like raids in ldon drop some outright amazing stuff.
I agree

This is an amazing ring.

WOW is the only way to describe it. and it came from ***NORMAL*** difficulty??? what kind of loot can come from HARD difficulty then. this is a truly amazing ring.

I'm definately always bringing rogues to do the chests.

does anyone know if the spells casters get can open chests with these kind of things in it???

It came from a normal difficulty *raid* chest according to the text. Normal Difficulty raids are aimed at elemental geared guilds. They're hard *with* ele gear, can imagine they're even doable without an ele geared raid.

It would depend on the lock that the chest has on it. If it's a magical lock then a Mage, Wizzy, Chanter, or a Necro can open it. If it's a cursed lock then a Cleric, Druid, Shammy, or a Necro can open that type (notice Necro's can open both types). If it's mechanical then it's all rogue.

  • Bards too ! lol
Well, unless raid chests are harder to unlock, but I unlock grouped adventure chests all the time .. They're always stunned at the exp message and ask "What just died !?"
