Drops off "a goblin dustscryer " (Level: 35)

His cycle is that any one of 3 different mobs can be a ph for it across 3 areas of the zone. Northwest, Southwest, Southeast. Once you kill one of the PH's .... another ph (or a goblin dustscryer) IMMEDIATELY pops.

I have compiled a list of all the mobs that are part of the cycle. Named mobs are obviously what they say, Named Mobs... Unique Mobs are mobs that they have unique names... and will only be one of them in the zone. They are specially named versions of common zone mobs.

The cycle mobs are:

[Named Mobs]
Bloodscale the Vicious
Boogoog
Buryani treasure seeker
Clazxiss
Dustback
Gemeye
Goblinstomper
Gromlok
Joojooga
Krenlek
Miner Bordakn
Overseer Miklek
Rockwolf
Slithinis
Stonegrinder
Varithyx

[Unique mobs]
a Sarnak assassin
a Sarnak mystic
a Sarnak rebel
a Sarnak seer
a Sarnak warlord
a berserk brute
a diseased brute
a goblin backbiter
a goblin chieftain
a goblin coward
a goblin dustscryer
a goblin headhunter
a goblin herbcollector
a goblin prospector
a goblin raider --- not to be confused with common named mob "goblin raider"
a goblin scavenger
a goblin trailblazer
a mangy brute
a rabid brute
a wandering stonehealer
buryani squad leader
mountain giant prospector

On the Terris Thule server the price in the bazaar on these is still ranging between 800pp and 1200pp.

As you know mana preservation II only affects spell levels 44 and under. At level 50 I still cast many lower level spells, especially when I'm doing all my item summoning prior to fighting.

I bought this long before the focus effect was added for 200pp and haven't regretted it once.

Maybe it's not as handy for other casters once they're above level 44, but for a magician, it's still very useful.
Mana conservation 2

Anyone know of an item with mana preservation 2 and or an item with improved healing 2 that a pally might think of using?
Clearly these item upgrades have been carefully selected to help the pure casters but not the hybrids... Just wondered if anyone knew different?
Might get one and keep it in my bag for those times i have to play MH while waiting for a cleric to show themselves.
Better off working towards a flowing thought item i think rather than these items but everything is worth investigation.
(Got my eye on that shard thingy in the deep, range slot uber stats FT3 /drool)

Try looking into a black alloy medalion they now have mana preservation ll on them

The BAM is definately the way to go for a hybrid - descent stats and the MC on it really comes in handy, especially if you tend to chain cast like my SK does.

This ball though isn't half bad for any hybrid but a ranger seeing as how our max bow skill is only 75 - my SK hung up his bow around mid to late 20s. :(
On Rallos..

On Rallos Zek, people may not all be very rich, but we have items. This is the kind of thing that's considered a piece of junk and given to a noob later if looted. BUT...the new effect, its worth a massive amount in most eyes', so I'm even making it a quest for myself to go obtian this item which I would have formerly destroyed. Wierd, eh? Merchants at Surefall used to sell this thigns (druids in Kunark TPing back for a quick-sell). Could have bought for 1pp2gp...didn't think it was worth it...wasn't, at the time. I would gladly pay 100 fold that now!

Now has a focus effect of:
Extended Affliction III

Focus effects must not be standard...mine is Mana Preservation II.
RE: Focus Effect
# Jun 06 2002 at 5:20 PM Rating: Default
the effects changed in the overnight patch. Mine went from extended afflection III to mana preservation II. A lot of other items were changed as well.
RE: Focus Effect
# Jun 05 2002 at 4:49 PM Rating: Decent
Which is the only attainable item for extended affliction that people outside of uber guilds can get. I think the cost for this will be alot higher very very soon.

For awhile. Supply and demand. Demand will rise for this item, but supply won't decrease as it hasn't been removed or the drop rate nerfed. It'll be back down to normal soon enough.

I think you may be underestimating the demand in this case. We shall see though.
The cycle
# Oct 28 2001 at 4:28 AM Rating: Default
The cycle is complex and you will need several trackers. I was able to do it as a level 45 druid. Getting the first one to start the cycle is a pain because it could have wandered anywhere. Best keep a list ( I had about 30 diferently named mobs that are part of it). Esp place a tracker in the SE corner, because the best loot (the Medicine Totem) gob spawns there and I have been ripped off several times by jerks who will sit there and let you do the work until the good mobs spawn and whack them before you get there. Then you spend an hour trying to figure out where the gobbie is...JERKS! If you see someone doing that there isnt much you can do except train every baddie onto them ....
Price?
# Jul 31 2001 at 4:13 AM Rating: Default
Is the price right?

Got an offer to buy one for 500 and then I could have prolly got it for 400. Well im on xegony and prices seem to be lower there.
RE: Price?
# Sep 05 2001 at 2:00 PM Rating: Default
Damn, I totally got ripped off. Bought one for 1k today on Bristlebane. =/ I got all excited when I saw it was range slot; and it sure did seem to be worth it. Bah.

RE: Price?
# Jun 05 2002 at 7:06 PM Rating: Default
It IS worth it... 30 mana for a range slot is already pretty good, whatever caster you play.

And since Extended Affliction III was added... which extends the duration of all DoTs, Snares, Damage+Root (druid, at least)... price will probably rise again.
The Cycle*

My friend he is a druid and he knows how to do the Cycle I believe in the cornerse u have to kill something for something to spawn in another corner. I think its NE SW SE I dont know them in order but im sure those are the 3s that u have to do the cycle in
HEHE
# May 30 2001 at 7:49 AM Rating: Default
hehe bought one on CT for 50pp and it goes for around 500-600
RE: HEHE
# Sep 25 2001 at 7:21 AM Rating: Default
Ya, until I played a caster I would have been "stupid" enough to sell for 50pp. It wasnt me however, I am looking to buy something for my ranged slot with int. Batling eye drops in the warrens (trivial loot codes means you you may have to buy it) its got +2 int and goes in ranged, and should sell for about 50pp.

I sold Polished Bone Anklet for feet when it dropped for my pally in Kunark which is (?) AC5 +2 int, +2Dex for less than 100. Now looking at the caster feet items I would say it should bring at least 500.

#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 29 2001 at 2:45 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ************** ones that stupid! Well just you! Are you sure that you didn't pay 50pp for a GLS?
Goblin Dustscryer
# May 03 2001 at 10:51 AM Rating: Default
This drops, oddly enough, from the Goblin Dustscryer. He spawns in same area as Rockwolf, Goblin Trailblazer, Goblin Headhunter, Boogoog, and a few others.
Cycle
# Feb 14 2001 at 2:55 PM Rating: Default
People talk of *the cycle*, apparently the dustscyers goblin spawn is linked to 3 other named spawns. They spawn in each corner area of frontier mountains, killing one makes one of the others spawn. Is a very popular farm now though and a tracker is essential. I don't know any more than that I'm afraid.
Mob?

I don't think it's the giants, because I've killed a lot of them and no one has ever mentioned hoping to get this. I would guess the goblins, just based on the name of the item and the fact that the goblins are called things like dirtcallers.

Found on Goblin Dustscryer in the Frontier Mountains. Range slot!
