OK I know I'm gonna get flamed for this, but I'm not impressed with this. 135hp/mana is nice, but the rest of the stats aren't much to shout about. The ratio sucks, and the effect is neat but not of any great use. Maybe mages who chain pet would have more use for this than I would. But lets face it there is a mace that drops in this same zone of a single groupable mob that is 60/40 1hb 100hp/mana and procs a 450dd, way more usefull IMHO. So while this has more hp/mana (only 35 though)the Kelp Hilted Mace isn't going to cost me any loot points.

I'm not going to flame you but the stiletto is much better than the kelp hilted mace. Sure, the mace is more fun. But it's 100 hps, 100 mana. At this level, it's all about the hps/mana if it doesn't have a focus effect or worn effect. The ratio means absolutly nothing. The proc on the mace is fun but it's not going to help your dps on a raid at all. Half the time you're busy trying to stay out of AE range, anyways.

It all boils down to 135/135 > 100/100.

Don't wear it... put it in a bag and use it to shrink your pets.

15 sta is good for a necro. And if your complaining about the Ratio being "poopy" what are you doing Meleeing?? Your spos to be Doting, or nukeing. Leave the melee up to the real melee.

First of all yes the mace is a better weapon to use......this is not a weapon......it's a clicky......it's a mana free faster cast time pet shrink..
wrong!

I thought Tiny Companion shrank pets, right? Not "Players." Besides, what use would we have for little pimps anyway ;)

I'll be honest with you, Tiny Companion is the least of why I would want that thing. Wow look at that ratio. Tiny Companion would just be cream.

I never really understand why people talk about 'tanking' elemental mobs. This is a nec/mage item. No it's not the best primary in the game but it has a great use.

1) Raid guild nec/mages don't often finding themselves tanking elemental mobs. If they do it's for a few seconds before they die.

2) In our guild shrink is a requirement for all raids (even gnomes). Pets must also always be shrunk.

Basically this frees up a spell gem, since I'm constantly having to reshrink my pet, either when I summon a new one, or after having the pet suspended. Sure it isn't like it's saving alot of mana, but it frees up a slot, doesn't require me to sit to change out spells so I can reshrink the pet each time, which no one wants to add any to their possible agro when in these types of situations. Pairs with the Orb of Infinite Terror from Saryin for Burnout V has been a great set up for my mage.

Not really complaining about the previous post but moreso just a generalized comment about the many comments I see on here of people complaining about how ratios are bad for doing damage while tanking elemental mobs.

I agree, it is a great "utility" piece. It can get annoying memming Tiny Comp every time I need to shrink my pet. Plus for 95% of EQ mages and necros it IS an upgrade.
