Just had to give a heads up. I found this one at bazaar on maelin for only 1kpp (others were around 10-15k) so it may have been a buyer error. Checked with tribute master, over 28k points! Not bad for only 1k or I could resell for 10k profit.
(PS if you were the seller on Maelin, sorry but deal's a deal)

Graphic

Well I bought this coif after reading on this thread that it had no graphic. I can confirm this much for those who will come here seeking an answer to the same question. On a Barbarian this helm DOES have a graphic... a plate one to be more specific. So while I was not thrilled it does have a graphic I guess it could have been worse and had a chain graphic! ;p

BTW I paid 60k for this on emarr and was worth it imo.

That's interesting that there is a graphic for barbs, because on my Vah Shir shaman, there is NO graphic. Just one more reason to be glad I made a Vah Shir, I suppose. =P

Stats are nice sure....but does it have a graphic when worn? If so....no coif for me :P

Apparently, like some other items in the game, the graphic on this coif appears to be class and race specific - even as to whether or not it is displayed in-game. On a human ranger (at least mine) there is no graphic, as of the date of this post. For whatever that's worth.

I obtained a Vampiric Coif of the Grave last night. It DOES have a graphic. It looks like a black helmet with black horns and a noseguard.

Great items for clerics available in LDoN...just takes imagi
# Oct 26 2003 at 7:35 PM Rating: Good
What is with people bashing the new items that help out the chain and leather based classes? For a long time they were behind the curve gearwise so I don't the problem with them getting some decent drops in LDoN.

That being said the casters out there, especially clerics and druids, need to stop complaining about the new gear. There is plenty of good items out there if you take the time to build them up properly with augs. Take this one for example:

https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=24147

Take that, slap two 40 mana augs and you have a 140 mana neck piece....not shabby for int maxed out casters. Take the same one and slap in one 40 mana aug and a plus 5 to all resists aug and you have a 100 mana with resists neckpiece...still with 8 wis and int in a dang neck piece. Add two 40hp augs if you want more hp for some reason and you have a 110hp neck piece still with 60 mana and 8wis and int. There are a hundred other ways you can aug this neckpiece to make it a dang nice piece for most non elemental guild casters, clerics and druids inc.

You people that complain that casters have no good gear are not using your head at all. LDoN is all about augs. Learn how to plan a new piece out with aufs and work toward that goal and you'll have some NICE pieces.

The dropped items that are rng rog shm or dru bst mnk are nice at drop...but with one aug slot they can easily be outdone with a well placed aug or two or three on some of those AP items. No one in the game got screwed here if you look beyond first impressions on jst the drops.

Well... almost no one got screwwed anyway. The only group of players I can see getting screwed with this expansion are the uber guild players...some of the gear you cvan get from LDoN can rival PoTime gear if properly augmented and as far as I am concerned that is GREAT. IT may take the lower players more time to get the gear but at last anyone can be well equipped in Everquest, uber guild or not. That is something to cheer about!

Well, I don't know about your equipment, but by far the best items in LDoN are the dropped ones imo...

take this Battle-Torn Cloak of the Ages for example. In the time it takes you to get enough points to get anything anywhere near comparable in points you can get a dozen of these for all your friends (yes I know they are nodrop, you have to actually BRING your friends)

Don't get me wrong, the AP items are great (my cleric is currently wearing Tak BP, with a resist aug, 40 mana aug, and FT aug making it one of the best BPs you can get short of elemental stuff) but the dropped items blow them away for the effort required.

small problems with that bro.. first off as far as I know only hp/mana aug available for type 1 is 20hp/m aug and you can only have one of any aug on a given piece 40hp augs that I have seen are for type 2 not type 1 but /shrug, there is some decent caster stuff out there
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 20 2003 at 6:10 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Could someone please explain to me what Sony/VI's reasoning was behind knocking cleric's out of 95% of the good LDoN equipment that they could/would use? I've seen a truckload of items like this that I'd love to have for my Cleric, but they're always RNG ROG SHM or DRU MNK BST. Hell.... even the spells and Adventure point items are less than exciting for Clerics.

Verant doesn't exist. Hasn't since about Luclin.

If you notice, a lot of the drops that came from LoY were Cleric, Druid and Monk. A lot of the drops from Lost Dungeons is working on Ranger, Rogue, and Shaman.

By the way, have you seen the Architect's bejeweled breastplate yet?
RE: Cleric?
# Oct 23 2003 at 3:48 PM Rating: Decent
Funny i am a druid and have not seen any good drop for us from either of the expansions. Even armor to buy for druids in ldon have no wis on it what good is that.
RE: Cleric?
# Oct 21 2003 at 11:19 AM Rating: Decent
I agree. It seems that a good 75% of the stuff comoing out of LDoN is RGR/ROG/SHAM. WTF? I realize that there's plenty of stuff out there for clerics...but it would be nice if some of the new stuff was as well. That's just my $.02
RE: Cleric?
# Oct 20 2003 at 8:22 PM Rating: Decent
Because clerics wear plate and these are chain and leather respectively. There is a lot of good plate gear out there for WAR, PAL, SK, CLR, BRD. Clerics are better off in the group where they can get much higher AC and HP as well as WIS.

Other groupings are the priest classes (CLR, SHM, DRU) and all casters. So stop complaining and look at all the great stuff out there that you can use. Royal Attendant armour is quite good.

Thank you, someone has some intelligence on these boards. There are 4 types of armor in the game, deal with it, if you don't like wearing plate roll a ranger please. I, as a cleric, am very happy to be able to waer plate class items, because I end up with a good chunk of AC over the other priest classes, and I can tank some places without a problem (such as running high DPS groups though regular ldons for a few quick points), and I wouldn't really want to wear chain or leather if I could.

And if you feel like griping about head items, here's one for you. Halo of the Enlightened was made especially for whiny clerics so they can go and get themselves a nice head item and shut up. A Fear clear is trivial for any guild with any sort of organization and CT himself is a pansy if you have a decent force (pickup raids are common and generally successful, even here on stromm =p)
RE: Cleric?
# Oct 27 2003 at 7:16 PM Rating: Decent
Exactly. Plate classes have been able to wear whatever they want thus driving up the price and demand for the other classes items. You'll never see a druid wearing chain or a ranger wearing plate but you will see the plate classes wearing both. Deal with it, and get over it we've had it this way for ever.
