k .. i got this for 3200 for my lvl 25 (now 26) monk..dmg was 15 at 25 ..havent checked for 26 .. i like this wep .. not as good as stave of shielding but its decent for training..(and cant complain i wont have to buy another 2hb wep for a LONG time :D)

Tbokin Sledder (55 war)
<Norrathian Underground>
Ddemons Ddemise (26 monk)
<Snugglebunnies of Doom>
Bertox server

This weapon is pretty damn nice

I own this wep and at lvl 62 with 72% Haste it is a very efficient weapon ( 72% Haste aqquired by Epic and Soulscream Belt btw )
i would how ever choose my Club of the Mad Researcher and Golden Wraps of the compact over it, i like the coz of the pure speed and high DPS.
i have added Warm emerald shard to it, and with 265 Dex it procs about 4 times every fight (normal spiders in Velk's) and a fair amount on PoV + mobs, with it being so fast and high dmg, it makes this weapon hold a huge amount of DPS (using InnerFlame i scored a Critical with it, for 592)

as i fledgling monk i have to wonder... hows the aggro can the mt still pull the aggro off of you after a couple procs and the mad DPS?

Often times in the higher end groups, you have shadowknights or paladins tanking. They are EXTREMELY good at holding agro with only spells, though they are lacking in the hp area and sometimes AC. I duo/group with one particular shadowknight (RL friend) who can snare 2-3 during his pull, and I can slow, malo, and cripple the monster (also during the pull), which is LARGE agro, but he hold it easily. Also, procs from his weapon, AND his taunt skill help ALOT! Warrior's are not as good at keeping agro, but they have a lot of hp/ac. Part of your responsibilities as a high lvl DPS class is to figure out how much you can do before you **** the mob off to much, and stop just before then. Example: Monks/rangers should not dual wield snaring/stunning weapons unless they REALLY wanna get wacked.

However, I HAVE had monks tank for me in tier two zones because of all of their defensive skills. They only took a little bit more, if not the same, damage as our old tank. The only problem they have is keeping agro, while still maintaining high hp/ac for the pull. Weapons such as Anklesmasher can hold agro nice, but are statless and weigh a lot.

Also, some high end monks like soloing in older zones (pre SoL). Then, they can use any weapons they want and not have to worry about 'stealing' agro from their tank, because they ARE the tank, and their DPS won't steal the agro because they ARE the DPS, as well as healer (gogo mend and BW!!!) and puller.

Hammer

Decent hammer if it came down between this and Staff of Flowing Water I would take this. I have reviewed the DPS on both and they have a very small margin.

On Luclin Staff of Flowing Water tend to go for 80-100K and these for 14-25K .... was trying to work out why they are so different !

Staff of Flowing water has better ratio and lower recommended level... makes a huge difference in price

Monk?
# Jan 12 2004 at 1:31 AM Rating: Decent
Just curious but why would a monk use this, unless it was for skill ups. Seems to me that you could do tons more DPS with two 1 handers. I could be wrong because I have never played a monk at that level, just an observation.

Along with triple attack (for monks 60 on up) monks can up it to more double, triple and even quads with AA in punishing blade. The reason this is is mainly because of the dmg bonus. You're not only getting a higher bonus with a 2 hander, but the dmg ranges are generally higher as well.

There is also the riposte thing, on both sides of the equation. If forced to hit in the front of a mob (for positioning/tanking or whatever) you will be riposted much less with a 2 hander. If you riposte with a 2 hander you only hit with the primary hand, so again, you'll do more on ripostes with this.

With a weapon like this, it would take a 1 hander combo of 15/20ish ratio abouts to do more damage. There are many other factors of course that can be considered, but them's the main reasons.

Because of Triple Attack.... It only works off your primary weapon. 2hb weapon has more damage output then 1 1hb weapon. Also good to use for auto riposte disc. Though there are much better to use.

Augmented
# Nov 17 2003 at 4:02 PM Rating: Decent
Does anyone know if you you can augment this weapon with a "Black Diamond of Crippling" from Butcherblock adventures?

I have been trying to figure out the slot and type issue but I havent truly understood the entire thing.

The Hammer of Corrupted Enchantments have Slot 1 Type 1, what exactly does that mean? The Black diamond of crippling is a type 5 augment restricted to primary secondary and range with a 30 delay min. But I am unsure of the slot restriction. If anyone can post something to this effect so I can see if I should even spend my points getting the augment. Thank you.

My monk uses at lvl 35 atm and he owns... Max hit is around 117 and with double attack mobs go down fast.
SoFW?
# Oct 14 2003 at 11:18 AM Rating: Decent
How does this compare to the staff of flowing water? The stats on this are better but I dunno :/

I was wondering the same myself...

Seems that the SoFW is definitely a better choice at lower levels due to the recommended levels of these two items (56 vs 65).

The ratio on SoFW is slightly better (42/34 vs 39/33) and I would expect it would result in marginally better DPS.

HoCE has some AC, 10 more HP, and +10 STA.

Resists on HoCE are +10 disease and +10 poison, which are much harder to come by than magic, fire, and cold, which are on the SoFW, although SoFW has a total of +30 resists, while HoCE has a total of +20.

At level 65, it seems close, and depends on what you are looking for I suppose. However, I suspect that level 65s may prefer the HoCE due to the stats.

It will be interesting to see what price this item fetches. I am trying to sell one for 25K on a server where SoFW sells for 40K. I'll post the price when I sell it.

Cheers,
-Az

On Torvonnilous prices seem to fluctuate and are ALWAYS way higher then on other servers. Highest i have seen a Staff of Flowing Water go for is 200k and the lowest at 75k. Right now in the bazaar as i type this Matosi is selling a Staff of Flowing Water for 130k and Phroaker is selling a Hammer of Corrupted Enchantments for 29500pp. More then 100k price difference. As good as the staff of flowing waters is i would have to go with the Hammer of Corrupted Enchantments purely based on the difference between the 2 price wise at least on the torv server.

Why it is corrupted.
# Oct 08 2003 at 6:07 PM Rating: Default
This weapon is pretty nice. The reason it is courrupted is becasue during its making, the magicks went wild. Thus it is a great weapon but the amoount of augments that it can have has been reduced. If you notice it only has one aug slot.. not sure but the ones you can buy have 2-3 aug slots.
