I quested the BP with 2 lvl 45's and myself at 36. Was easy as pie to get (Hard part was finding someone to go in and help me wack everything between myself and the piece from MM.
For any mid level warrior these are pretty easy to obtain, you can hang out in the karanas (i reccomend North) and do an /ooc every now and then to see if anyone is killing griffons and if they will let you grab a griffon eye if they see one. The items you need are a "griffon eye" (theres no such thing as an "eye of a griffon") which looks like a spiderling eye, is Lore and No Drop. You also need some gems, which can be fairly expensive. i reccomend getting a bard or enchanter friend to buy them for you. Hope my info helps =)
In July of '02, the Jaggedpine Forest was added as a free zone, and with this zone was added "Eye of the Griffon" (I know your post was before the zone was added, just mentioning that there is in fact an item of this name now, hehe)
Ok Say if you have crafted bp and someone is selling something better and you have money for it, i say buy it and sell your crafted bp... whenever you have a chance to get something better get it i have seen lvl 35's in crafted though
Thats pretty weak. By level 35, my cleric (main, first character) was in full quest armor, and I was looking to start upgrading it. I'm not one of those who thinks crafted would be bad at 35, but banded is very bad for a warrior. I'd say that by 35, you should be finishing your set of crafted, and by 40 you should be looking for upgrades. There is no excuse for having banded anywhere at 35. You can pull in 100 pp per hour easily in highkeep, while getting good exp. You should be able to have AT LEAST fine plate in every slot, and shoot for crafted for the slots it is available.
If anyone has ever tried the crafted quest you would know that the Breast Plate takes either a Guild raid or a group of 40s to get. So if your right by time you get it you should be getting rid of it =p i was lucky enough to get my BP from my guild leader who was getting rid of his at lvl 52.
You're absolutely right, and I got rid of the banded and bronze pieces not long after I wrote that post.
Now, at 47 I am working on getting rid of the last of my crafted (still wearing legs and bracer). I guess I am not as equipment-crazed as some are, and I hate sitting around auctioning for hours to get a good deal.
with bazaar, why auction? if not on dialup, go to trader mode and sell what you don't want, or don't need anymore. nice way to make money, and a good way for nublings to twink.
Crafted is very good for a level 24. It gets too bad when the cleric has a hard time keeping you alive. Probably should be starting to upgrade no later than 40, and should have better in all (at least most) spots by 50. But at 24, even with the new stuff out there. crafted is great armor.
I seen level 40+ warriors with a few pieces of crafted. It is not shameful at all. Still see alot of classes wity quest armor up into their 40's. Still wear a bracer of the reverent at level 52 as a cleric and seen as high as 60 still with 1. Granted some pieces are are better than others. If you see better get, but never be shameful of your hard earned or easy earned quested armor. Cobalt and planar armor will come when you need it.
I am lvl 40 warrior and i have no crafted, i lost all mine except the BP around lvl 35. I then sold the Bp for 600pp and i bought chestplate of the dark flame. Crafted is ok, but i feel that past level 45 its an embarrasment. Its a bit sad to see a warrior of 49 in full crafted. I dunno i guess it all depends on what you prefer. i have pretty good gear for my level but my weapons are horrible. It's your choice but the way i look at things is that you should save your money for very good things rather than spend it to buy alot of cheaper things.

For me it makes more sense to have all your gear at a decent level instead of saving up for that *one* piece of 'good' gear. F.Ex. if you upgrade all your armor to have just 1, 2 or 3 AC more (f.ex. from banded to bronze or bronze to crafted), it will total in 15+ AC more, which would be more than you could upgrade in one single piece. Most warriors (untwinked mid 30ies) i know still use Crafted + some ry'gorr pieces and would rather upgrade the few bronze or fine plate pieces they have to crafted than spend 2-3 kPP for one piece of uber-gear. And after they have decent AC they go for a FBSS or another haste item.
I completely agree. As a druid, I could either buy 1 PKT (+14 wis off hand I think) for thousands of pp, or I could buy 2cbb, a foreman's tunic, and some splitpaw hide gloves for maybe 750pp and have gotten +15 wis... Anyways, I like crafted, my warrior wears crafted, and as soon as I see something that I can afford to improve upon in my warriors inventory/equipment, I will.
