Book Text:

Having learned the basic
art of fletching from the
greatest teachers of
Surefall, I set out to
expand on their ideas. I
wanted to find a new type
of wood that would be more
susceptible to woodworking.
This new wood also needed
to have a great deal of
flexibility to add to the
power of each shot.
Traveling through the
northern tundra I came upon
a mine entrance that was
nearly covered in snow. I
swept away enough to
wriggle my way in. I was
surprised at how well kept
this mine was. As a matter
of fact it wasn't a mine at
all but some sort of
underground storage area.

There were many strange
breeds of plants growing
here. One of them was a
type of sedge I had never
seen before. Its boughs
were long and slender. I
went to examine it closer
and tried to cut a branch
off. It was surprisingly
resilient. I gathered as
many branches as I could
and took them back to
Surefall were I would try
to work with them.

There I applied the same
teachings I learned when
working with Shadewood.

its the book of fletching recipes for new expansion. thats how folks used to find out what to combine to make things was the cookbooks of norrath.

sadly, this book is largely useless since theres only one new fletching ingredient, and the only thing its for is bows. Just another, standard, bow stave with the same possible combos. Thats our "new tradeskill recipes!" for fletching: another subpar bow no one will actually use.

not like the other new tradeskill recipes like oh say jewelcraft that actally make a few useful items.

Ah, but for once you can build skill making a bow with a foraged component (sedgewood branch) and relatively cheap other components in a skill range that you used to have to buy darkwood staves for 400p a piece. At the skill level sedgewood will help you advance, your other choices are very expensive arrow materials or farming acrylia and condensed shadow.

Not a bad add on. Though the book is only there I think to clue people into what sedgewood branches are for.

This uses of this bow are to provide a stepping stone over the huge trivial gap in fletching between 202 and 248

The use of the sedge branch in feltching trivials at 224

Id say thats very usefull.
