Good for a bow?
# Oct 21 2004 at 1:24 PM Rating: Decent
Is there any complications with attaching this to a bow? I've heard that procs have a chance of breaking root (ranger talking here) and thus this may not be the best augment for a bow.

My logic is to root or aggro/fear kite and get healed while you do it.

I am only 40th level, so please excuse my ignorance of higher level playing (like level 55+, when this can proc).

Any direct damage spell has a chance to break root. If that's not something you ever want to do, then look elsewhere.
Aggro?

Does anyone know how much aggro this proc generates? It would be sweet to increase my ability to self-heal, but, as a ranger, it only takes a moment of gaining aggro to erase a lot of healing.
Proc?

Is this just a damage proc or does it act like Lifetap? Does it take life from the mob and give it to you?

Great augment

I finally saved enough to purchase this. I attached it to my Swiftwind, which is secondary weapon, and at level 59 with 167 dex, it is definitely not disappointing. I do go some fights without it proc'ing at all, but other times it will proc twice in a row, or like 4-5 times in a fight.

Anyway, it's definitely worth it, and a nice little augment for an epic.

What does the recomended lvl do to this? Does the proc do less dmg? Does it work at all?

[i][/i][/Orange]This is a GREAT proc if u are a fighter with [Blue]high dexterity and a [Green][/Green]quick weapon, as it procs many times even for my 41 pally with 70 (now over 100) dex and a 40 dlay wep (not counting FBSS)Smiley: smile

proc effect issue
# Sep 30 2003 at 7:13 PM Rating: Decent
I added this to my Aleje's Cermonial Cudgel. The 50 pt lifetap is nice, and you can get crit damage and exceptional heals out of it (with the appropriate aa's, of course). The proc does have a weird effect though. Whenever it procs, it pulls you towards your target, and can also interrupt any spells you are casting. Kind of a pita really, as you often have to reposition yourself after the proc goes off. It is even more of a problem when fighting underwater, as the pull would launch me over the mob like a torpedo.

How do you cast while attacking? or does the pull really last that long?

Edit: Just heard they removed the pull effect from the proc :)

That would be funny to see. Melkiah gets a proc and goes flying a thousand miles underwater in the middle of a flight screaming "NOOOOOOOO!"
