1HB should be usable by any ERU with the 1HB skill.
Old School itemization had a lot of variety a specialization. Evil Erudites had this quite a bit (i.e., there's a really good SK Shadowknight sword in the Hole, for the era it was put in). In some respects it was a nod to immersiveness in that only a character of this race/class/deity would use this thing. Most of this approach was abandoned pretty quickly in EQ history (like the various size restrictions on armor).
Anyways, circa 2016 we need:
-pic of this in the modern item window
-barring the above, verification of the quest details
I was able to turn in the rotting femur today as a level 15 Erudite Necromancer (Noclin cons amiable to me).
It's a bit of a shame they upped the level to acquire so much, 4 was probably too low (old level) but somewhere around 8 would have been really useful.
Since I am playing on Time-locked progression, this is actually a full upgrade at the moment and probably will be for a while.
At 16, I killed Noclin's Pet twice and got the message that "the_Noclin's_Pet is a trivial" MOB. Does this mean that the TLR is in effect and that I will /never/ get the femer? Can only get the Quest at 15 now and TRL at 16 seems a little difficult to deal with.
I have been using this weapon since I "acquired" (ripped it off the leg of) it at Level 4. Only thing I wish for more of, was a higher Dexterity so it would proc MORE! Now at level 10, I finally got a proc and it is great! Now when I fight yellow mobs with my blue pet, I only cast Poison Bolt and Darkness, then close into melee and usually end up getting a sicken on the critter too! Not only is sicken (in this case free, but also) better then Disease Cloud, but that is one more spell slot that I can have open!
My ultimate recommendation? Get them Dry Bones! You will not be sorry!
Evrytime I am on my way to warrens, and I see noclin pet and get femur and then give weapon to my pet. And he starts to proc like crazy :p
If you don't belive me, ask high level Necros who famr: daggers of Dropping, Gnoll Lariates and SSOYs for thier pets. Yes, level 60s necros now give SSOYs to their pets.
OK - so mayne amazing is a bit strong, the damage / delay isn't that good and you will not see the proc until later, but ...
It gives you +10 mana. At level 4 that is equivalent to the mana gain you get from having an extra 13 Int. Even at level 11 when this weapon starts to proc (still only leve; 7 so don't know if this is correct) it is equivalent to +4 Int. For the non-twinked player, this has to be one of the best items that can be earned at level 4.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spell cast on you: You feel feverish. Spell cast on someone: Soandso sweats and shivers, looking feverish. Spell fades: Your fever has broken.
This weapon does not proc at level 10. (My Erudite Necro has one and he's level 10)... I'm guessing it doesn't proc till 12 or so. Still not a bad weapon though.. hard to get a magic weapon below level 10, let alone one that will proc (eventually) :)
A little background about a (un)fortunate incident.
I was trying to figure out how to get into the city at the evavator at paineel, and stepped backwards off into the pit. Very sad because I was wearing some low-end twink items (Batfang Headband, Polished Bone Braclet, Dragoon Dirk, etc) Well, my stuff was lost. I petitioned to try to get my stuff back, and was denied. *However* the GM offered me a "leg-up kit". All I have to say is WOW! I got a white robe (looks like the gosomer robe) with 9ac and a full set of armor better than leather. This is absolutly worth more than that stuff I lost (150pp or so) because I probably won't be needing armor upgrades until level 25 or so. Anyways... back to the point at hand.
I killed this pet (easy at level 5 with my now Uber twinked necro) and this weapon is quite nice for the level, plus at later levels it does procs a dot... how is this not a kick *** weapon for the level 5-15 necro?
lucky man...and in no way is it not a kick *** weapon, espaicially for how easy it is to get
and to all you people who complain about the level it procs at...most people would be Extremely happy with this weapon if it didn't have a proc, but verant figured they'd be nice and throw in a proc, and all everyone does is complain that it doesn't proc till lvl 10

I'm a level 4 erudite necro. this weapon was intended for people like me. but sometimes, it tells me that my will is too weak to control the weapon (roughly, i don't recall the exact words).
But you get the mana right away and the damage is good, if a little slow. But it can hit magic critters. My level 10 Wizard is still looking for a magic weapon. This thing will grow with you and be usable up to your low teens. Real nice. I'm a little miffed that my Erudite Shadowknight can't use it.
This would be a much better weapon if it proc'd at 5 (the level that shamen get sicken) as it stands with the proc at level 12 you only get the effect for about 4 levels.
ok, let's see here; erudite necros already get the highest int, a not bad cha for an evil class, the best starting zone I have ever been in (where else can you get 30pp by lvl 4 by selling loot off of low lvl mobs?) plus the obvious necro advantages; GREAT pets (starting at lvl 1 no less), some excellent DOTs, a DD that doubles as a heal (whatever you want to say about it's dmg above lvl 4), invis at lvl 8, fear, and buffs. Plus this weapon lets me put my dragoon dirk in my range slot. I'm not complaining a bit!
