Sell Back Gave 105 Points

I've had this piece rotting in my bank for a while and was finally able to remove the augments that I had on this breastplate due to the change with the last patch. I went back to Butcherblock, removed the augments and then visited the adventure merchant and opened up the interface. I then clicked on my breastplate in my inventory and the vendor said, "I'll give you 105 adventure points for that breastplate."

Sweet! This gave me back 105 points or just over 2/3'rds of its original value. Saved me 2 Normal adventures worth of points, or 1 Hard Adventure worth.

I'd like to see more sellback point values posted for LDoN armor items.

Dont forget about the type 3 slot
# May 20 2004 at 5:13 AM Rating: Decent
Im probably going to buy this BP for my 54 cleric for two reasons. One, its cheap to get. Second, it has a type 3 slot available. I am 1 dungeon short of having enough points to buy the FT1 piece from NRO. Only problem with the FT aug is finding an item that has a type 3 slot. This BP is a perfect fit. Also, with the two other type 1 slots open, you can fit in any type of stat aug that you need.

I have this BP on my 50 pally, itself being a very nice bp but the something that makes it better than other BP's is the augment slots, with them you can make this BP a hell of alot better, just think, this BP, you can buy a +6 Sta aug for 100AP, and you can get Dex augs, nad many others to make this a very nice BP, so really, this could be way better than a Deepwater BP and alot of others, this goes for all the other pieces too.

Just got me one of these. After the adventure that dinged me to level 51, I had 150 APs. As my breastplate at that time was a Calcified Steel one, the Death Embracer's one is a very good upgrade. I like it so far and the color is nice for a Paladin (a bit lighter than Valorium).

Btw, it is a lot of points, but then again, items have become way to easy to get with all expansions.

Considering the folks that will want this stuff are under 55 or so, it'll probably take most well over 100 adventures to get a full suit. In case you didn't know, that's a lot. Velious quested armor is still superior statistically speaking too, even with only one aug slot to this one's three. That said, at 150AP apiece, it's still much easier to go for a suit of this than to organize multiple level 50+ only guild raids to get yourself a Velious suit, so these are probably still the best deal. Just keep in mind that you'll be blowing a lot of AP and a LOT of time trying to get this. Fortunately AP isn't by far the only reward from doing LDoN...
nice

A light blue, almost identical to crafted in Appearance. I've got nearly a full set (just missing the gloves), and it's extremely nice stuff for a Warrior. Probably the best Armor for a Warrior prior to the Elemental Planar stuff, what with the combined HP/AC benefits, never mind all the Stats. People try to argue that point with me, but what clinches it is the Augment Slots. At my level, Augments add +5/+6 apiece when they drop and I win. My entire suit of Death Embracer's, I've got 2 or 3 Augments on each piece, and the stats on it rival a lot of Planar armor pieces.

ill agree its nice and cheap but saying pre elemental is a wide margin, there are several pre elemental bps that id wear over this one such as ornate/windworn chestplate. ornate has a good bit more raw hp than this even if auged, the advantage to this is the special augs such as ft maybe. dunno thats just the way i see it.

edit: ft coming from say maybe a clerics perspective.

Have to remember that people under 65 get alot less points at lvl 50 it would take 15 adventures to get this so the point cost isn't to bad.
Nice

Thats a nice piece. I may have to start playing my SK again and get him started on LDON. Only requirement to get this piece is mainly to fork over the money and buy LDON and do a some adventures.

There they go again, tradeskillers get the shaft again. First they throw in new smithed armors that are basically only good enough to twink with, then they make this better than acrylia plate, engraved royal velium, and old cultural, and make it only 150pts. Either its a mistake, or smiths are gonna be feeling some pain.

Xaanru I have to agree with you 100%. I finally got my smithing up almost high enough to make acrylia plate and there was a sudden drop in people wanting acrylia. And all my friends that wanted me make them gear; would rather go do adventures and save points for this than help me get the stuff to make them acrylia plate, geez. I'm still waiting for the day when smith can make stuff this good or better. Makes you wonder who smithed all that uber gear the dragons had in their stomachs from eating previous wanderers before people finally killed them?
RE: compare to smithed
# Sep 23 2003 at 6:08 PM Rating: Good
It's all about the elemental smithed gear nowadays. Hurricane, Inferno, & the like are worth the most as far as I can see. And it's still worth it for a smith to work as hard as he/she can to make this armor for the undertwinked out there in their guilds. Although in the end it all seems pointless when the raid dropped armors are always better than the man-made, but the big point I guess is that there is never enough of it to suit everyone's needs. Therefor giving smithies a reason to still exist.

Been itching to make some inferno, but have yet to even get ONE of the metallic substances. I have all the rest of the materials I need, to attempt one BP for my personal use, but no substances Smiley: frown

I make and sell hurricane plate, although the only piece I have found to sell very well, and make a profit is the BP.

My original point was merely that 150points seems pretty cheap for a piece of the quality of this BP above, which will make life all that much harder on the smith's skilling up, and trying to make a little plat while doing so, today.

Overall, this BP is very nice, I just find 150 points to be a fairly low cost for obtaining it.

At lvl 39 my warrior gets a whopping 8 points so it is waaaay out of reach for him. So I got him Breastplate of Choatic Magic that dropped on adventure with my 60 mage

MMM recom. lvl 45. sure this prolly tosses any velious quested armors out. BUT trade skillers dont hang up your hammers just yet. Im sure theres a lvl 1 out there dying for your gear :)

All the better smithed armors have recommended levels.

The blue diamond plate (heraldic full mithril) is rec level 45

PoP armors (Hurricane, night terror, inferno, etc.) are required level 46, and rec level of either 60 or 63.

Tae ew armor is required level 51.
Hurry!

Better get one of these quick, before they nerf the cost... hehe. I have my Skyshrine BP so I'm good here, but if I didn't, I'd definately be shooting for this guy.

# Sep 19 2003 at 8:05 PM Rating: Default

AC 40, 25 hp is pretty stunningly good for a lousy 150 points. Only 5 ac short of a Vindi BP (though 75 hp less). Not much reason for even those people that can't seem to accumulate plat not to be well-armored now.
RE: Hey
# Sep 22 2003 at 5:01 AM Rating: Default
Only 5 ac and 75 hps short of a Vindi. Hey... check something for me. How many type 1's does a Vindi have? How many type 3's?

Yeah... I think I'll pass on Vindi. Besides... if you think THIS is nice... wait till you get a load of the Royal Sand gear.
RE: Hey
# Oct 02 2003 at 8:03 PM Rating: Decent
I'd much rather have the extra 75hps + svs + AoB over a slot 1 and slot 3. Just figure how many adventure points it'd cost to get 2 augmentations that even come close to that and you'll see you just blew over 2k in adven points. Take the Vindi BP over this any day if you melee (ie; clerics excluded).

HPs and Svs RULE ALL.

Well you have to remember that for the non-uber crowd, Vindi already has great HP (100 + the STA), a great effect (AoB) and great resists (15 sv All), so it doesn't really need any augmenting to be a very solid BP. Plus you can still tack on a cheapie augment for your favorite stat if ya wanted to.

That's not to say that this BP isn't or can't be good with the right augments, because it certainly can. Just don't sell Vindi short; it's still a nice BP. Now Royal Sand on the other hand...yeah, much better.
