You all the gloves are also useable by the new bersurker class in the new expansion....so i would assume that is the class they are set for..
even so 14 ac gloves are nice with a cold resist...

We had one of these drop on a MM 55-60 adventure. Nobody even rolled on them, so I took them out of pity. Tried to sell to vendor, but they are worthless even to them. Put them up in bazaar for 300pp and the only tell I got was someone asking why rogue/ranger/shaman gloves had INT and an insanely high recommended level for the stats. Finally just gave them to my twink ranger for the mana and resist.

High weight and useless INT at the recommended level. If the level was dropped and classes expanded to NEC/WIZ/MAG/ENC, these would actually be quite nice.

ROFL, I was wondering the same thing. So many expansions and they still throw in crap that just doesn't make any sense, hehe.
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 04 2003 at 6:06 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It might have been an attempt to have an old school effec the armor used to have. Listen, first of all, some of you people are either pure idiots, or just dont pay any attention or care about the game itself. Items once had "int" or "wis" on items, not because the class needed them, but because if your character had more intellegence, well, that ment he was more intellegent. If your character had more wisdom well, that means he had more wisdom.

Spare us the disdain of the true roleplayer. By the level these gloves are attainable, you have very little room for roleplaying with your stats. Everquest is a game where your stats are a direct determination of your abilities, and no ranger or shaman is going to give up the ability to have more wisdom in their hand slot so they can be a pure roleplayer and tell everyone how much smarter they feel wearing these gloves.

The best possible outcome of these is that rogues might use them for poisoncrafting or other tradeskill skillups, but that's about it, so I'd say that until the int is changed to wis, this is a truly crappy item to drop off a named in your mid-50s.
not to bad

I agree, the int seems rather useless. However, the mana and save cold are very nice. We had this drop off of a random mob in MM. It was during a rescue mission, and the winner was quite pleased with them.
what's the point..

..in putting INT on gloves that can't be used by classes that benefit from it?

Yes thouse 3 classes can still benefit from INT for tradeskills.

Maybe the rogue. The shaman and ranger will have higher wis than int anyway. The tradeskills algorithm looks at the higher of the 2 when calculating success and increase rate. Old school thought was that Wis was used for success rate and Int was used for skill increase. Either people were making a false assuption or it's been changed years ago to look at the higher of the 2 attributes for success AND increases.
Anyway, recommended level 50. Can't see any of the classes listed wanting these gloves for anything. At least it's droppable so you might get a few plat for them.
