RE: Berserkers

A bit of a disappointing drop in ldon, but with berserkers these sell for like 1k now on druzzil ro, so worth alittle plat :p. Using one on my berserker nice cheap little stick :)
Why so cheap?
# Nov 11 2003 at 3:07 AM Rating: Decent
I don't get it. The #5 tradeable 2HP in the game, and it's going for less than 1k. What's up with that?

Then you are either below level 28, or not a melee class. Damage bonuses vary by level, and for 2h weapons, they also vary by delay.
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 29 2003 at 1:28 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This weapon, IMHO, sucks. The only class that would benefit from this would be a ranger. A warrior could not use the mana, and most war/pal/shd piercing is well below average. Not to mention that this is rec. lvl 60. I know most, if not all, lvl 60+'s would have something MUCH better than this.

You sir are very misinformed. Not to bag on ya bro but look things up first. Take the Paladin, there are only 15 2HP's with better ratio, and only four of those are tradeable (as listed on this site). The TTCP is easy to get, and a great skill weap, but has no damage bonus and a low delay (and usually 2handers are used for thier high delay but high damage w/bonus to reduce agro...usually). The other three tradeables are rather expensive (though prices are coming down as is the norm the others run 10k or more).

Of the no drops there are a number of good ones, but most require Planar raid capable guilds. Everyone does not belong to those types of guilds.

So, how exactly does this thing "suck"? IMHO there is only one problem, the high reccommended level. That is its only critical drawback. It is still a decent weapon, not great, but no where near "the suk!"

Two tined corpse pitchfork. The damage bonus is absolutely pathetic to be quite honest (14 at 65 whereas the 28 delay war marshalls bladed staff is 35). I used one for quite some time as it is indeed very cheap and it really isn't a bad weapon. The problem that it has is that people put entirely too much weight on damage bonus. a 26/22 weapon is nice for pure ratio - it is the third highest ratio of all tradeable two handers. The DPS suffers for the lack of damage bonus, but it still beats something like a widebladed greatsword (35/35) hands down. I was parsing the pitchfork as consistantly 5-10 DPS higher than the greatsword with haste. That having been said, damage bonus can make a HUGE difference. The war marshalls bladed staff, at 31/28 has a far lesser ratio but outdoes the pitchfork by as much as the pitchfork outdoes the widebladed greatsword.

Not sure what TTCP is but if it's a weapon it has a damage bonus. =\

I think sony needs to step back, look at their policies about recommended levels, and either change them very drastically or take out recommended levels. It's taking all the fun out a tradable items in my opinion and for me it's a fact that is it. Trivial Loot Code would have destroyed EQ immediately, recommended level has been doing it slowly but surely...
