Funny Story
# Jul 20 2004 at 10:38 PM Rating: Default
Our group scored one of these rings on an LDoN yesterday off a Crimson Cabal Challenger (3rd named mob in the dungeon). We had 5 people, myself (46 warrior), a 46 druid, 42 war, 40 war and a 41 cleric.

Druid was ML, so he pulled ring from corpse and we rolled for it. 42 war won the roll. ML wasn't happy about it, then he went LD.

We thought he might have gone LD on purpose, but he logged back in about 15 mins later and apologized, no harm no foul. ML tried to give ring to the 42 war, but he already had one. Common sense says if you have one, you can't get another, right? Apparently not. He was a newbie who got uber twinked by a friend (blade of carnage, whole 9 yards) and wanted someone to hold the ring for him till he could give his friends ring back.

We went around on this for about 10 mins trying to explain to the guy that he already had one, regardless of whether he owned it or not. He finally left group after telling us all off (even though most of us were trying to be polite about it).

Problem solved, next highest roll gets ring, right? Nope, ML wants a reroll, claiming he went LD before he got to roll (which wasn't true, i scrolled back and reviewed the rolls). Went around on that for another 5 minutes. He finally saw reason though and gave the ring to the 2nd highest roller, who was the cleric. Once this ordeal was settled, group disbanded. I was disappointed in the conduct of the twinked war and the druid (who was quite whiny about the whole thing).

I would have liked to have this ring, as I don't have a haste item and +15 str/agi would be a significant upgrade compared to what I have now (I'm a newbie as well, but not a twinked one, I earned everything I have, lousy as it is). PC'd it with my guild, got responses in the 8k range. Pretty sweet drop for a normal difficulty adventure in the mid 40s range.

Sorry for the book.

Yeah, I can't really understand what a cleric would do with it other than sell it.
RE: Funny Story
# Jul 28 2004 at 5:22 PM Rating: Decent
Maybe he needed the cash and was going to sell the ring or maybe he thought it will be nice to have when he wants to go and beat on things. Whatever the reason he has every right to roll on the item. I can't remember a time when a piece of loot didn't get rolled on by someone just becasue he/she was not of the appropiate class to use it.

I thought there was something known as need before greed. Yeah it's an old saying but I'd hate to think it was dead.

I agree with NBG, but , really, in a pickup group?
Never heard of it much less seen it. In a pick up group (at least all I've been in), the only thing that keeps a person from rolling is a no drop tag and unusable by them or thier class. So don't think that Need Before Greed is dead, just that it may be used in a situation where it makes more sense.

sux grp looted this ring and a frigin cleric won the roll, when does a cleric need haste or agility?
RE: sucks

just because the cleric wins it doesnt mean he/she will use it, he/she can give it to an alt, give it to a friend, give it to anybody, or sell it

Won this awesome ring tonight. It dropped off a Roving harvester light stalker. Took it to the bazaar to check price (No I'm keeping it) and was surprised to see it selling for 14-16k on The Nameless!

OMG -- got one of these for 4k today in bazaar - hadnt even chkd haste % only 16% but thats ok by me, I'm usually not soloing IE grouped w shm, but 15 str 15agi and haste on a ring is way cool. My lil frog warrior thx the man that sold it to me.

RE: Sick ring
# Jan 22 2004 at 12:25 PM Rating: Decent
I have to wonder, if you only paid 4k for it, why did you not add the price to the list for pricing details. Well, other than the fact it will bring the price down closer (although still miles away) to a reasonable listing.

I'm sorry, but you have to be 2 brain cells from a toe tag to pay anything CLOSE to the prices listed in the pricing details and text accounts (well, except for your 4k). Scary thing is that there are indeed people who ARE paying these prices. Heck, if you are getting 5 figures for this ring (a good ring, don't get me wrong), what are these people willing to pay for REAL haste like CoF or CoM? 300k? 500K?

This is indeed a nice ring. I am just having a REAL hard time seeing it worth much more than maybe 6-8k.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 12 2004 at 10:52 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Im amazed that some morons actually take the price listings on this site for real at all. They are almost never right. I didnt think anyone actually ever looked at them but i guess some people are dumber than i though

Forget about the haste all together and what do you have a 5AC 15str 15Agi ring those are nice stats how much it is worth depends if you need those stats, hard to get that much str and dex for rings, if you even can without paying in the 100k range , of course those rings would have other stats. AGI = AC so if you want more AC this is a good ring. Don't know why people look down a tunnel and think they can see all that is around them. Before you post always think of all uses and all benefits :) And never think you are all knowing :) Great monk ring btw, being they don't get great AC, and they are dps so all the str can help.

I'm baffled on the price myself, in fact I cannot even see paying 4k for this. It has no stamina, no hit points, no saves, and only 16% haste. Why is it worth 4k?

Perhaps it has something to do with rogues, I suppose, since I've never played that class, but I sure would not put it on any of the melee classes I do play (warrior, paladin, monk). I'd rather have 21% or higher haste, and something else for a ring.

Xaanru i challange u to find a ring that is not recommend lvl of 55+ that has 15 str AND 15 agi. i won this last night on my necromancer and have since givin it to my bard after my bard replaces (when if ever im sure there are some uber no drops out there) it will probably go into thebank for a future char

Who cares about Agility and Strength?

Again, it has no stamina, no hps, and no resists.

This is trash. I've won three, and sold three.

You can take the group from this LDoN, go to Guk, and get better haste just as easily now adays. Hell, I'd venture to say Guk is better xp too.

i choose the ring over the other haste items even though haste % is low.
here is why decent stats and it left belt, back, and hand slot open for items with way better ac and hitpoints than the haste items i can afford for those slots
i use taunt modifier belt, kylong gauntlets, cloak of greater pernicity.
i have mixed feelings about the ring though it seems to work fine, esp when shammy or chanter buffs me
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 14 2003 at 12:26 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Both this and a Cloak of Sewn Flesh dropped on a 41-48 LDoN adventure (normal slaughter in MM) tonight. Most of the group members were guildies, and the other tanks who were in my guild already had better gear, so I ended up with both items without even having to roll. Suddenly I have a couple of pieces of equipment that will last me well into PoP. I'm a very happy Paladin tonight.

I got this ring on a MM adventure yesterday afternoon. Level 40-47 gather (25) dropped off the named.

I have SCHW on my SK twink. So when I found out it's true haste % I just put it on my bazaar mule. Wasn't intenting to sell it but, if it sold oh well. Put it up for 15k plat. So I could go eat dinner. Was sold in about 15min after I put it up. The same person who bought it added 50k to the price LOL...

Anyways.. Nice little ring, drops frequently in MM adventures.

Same story. 39 - 46 I believe. Gather 25. Named mob, butcher block. Think they were undead... geeze, memory is fuzzy. Have been on too many adventures lately.

(EDIT: fixed typo.)

Stacking
# Dec 05 2003 at 11:38 PM Rating: Default
On the CT sever people beleve that this ring hast will stack with other items such has SCHW and SOULSCREAM belt... Is this true (if not sell your rings in the bazaar for 20k eazy lol) ?
RE: Stacking
# Dec 07 2003 at 11:22 AM Rating: Decent
Now I am not saying that I beleive that this haste for some reason stacks with other item haste (since it never does). But can anyone confirm or shoot down this? I think it would be worth the parsing if there is actually an item in game that can increase your worn haset by 15%-16%. Like I said though, I am doubtful.
RE: Stacking

no it doesnt, dropped offa (vein/tendon(cant remember which it was))slicer put it on me rogue, who already had SCHW, and parse didnt differ from before compared to after...

#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 05 2003 at 9:32 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I realy think that alot of players need to read up on these new droping items for if you look up the haste rating it say 16% at level 1 and increases as you level till 49 and is then 50% haste and will remain at 50% haste ok im not going to sit and explain how you can look up the exact data and efects of these items but ill do you the favor i spent all day researching it and the rating is as aposed 15% at leve,l and 28% at level 26 and 36% at 39 and alast but not least maximom haste is 50$ at 49 these are fact's and yes the haste on certin items will stack thanx and safe travels here in norath
RE: Haste rating
# Dec 08 2003 at 11:34 AM Rating: Decent
The haste on items doesn't alter with levels. It's 16% on this and always will be. On the item description you see a haste percentage range based upon level...this is purely for the Spell "haste", and not for the benefit given by an item varying with level. What catches the attention is the haste is in effect at level 15, making it a useful little item for a low level twink.

# Oct 17 2003 at 12:55 AM Rating: Default
Won this baby in a roll, I was ML at the time i open the corpse and bamm, there I saw it, could not belive an item this good droped in a group avg only ~45. I am a very honest person, but I don't think my convictions were ever more tested then this. For a brief moment i even contemplated going dead link(a very brief moment), but I told myself that everyone in that group has a right to roll for that item. When time came to roll , all 5 other group members rolled under 250(out of 200 to 300) and I won with a 248 :)!! Must have been good karma for not cheating my group.

Hmmm To tell you the truth I wouldn't have you in my guild simply because of your post. Some things you should just keep to yourself, especially if you've ever considered cheating your group out of a stupid piece of loot. My opinion is that if you could have gotten away without everyone seeing that you looted it you would have. Anyway, just posting because you have "looking for guild" currently in your siggy. Btw, you're wasting your time anyway, you don't even have a server listed.
RE: Droped in my group

did you even read my post? I wouldn't want to be in your guild with your additude. I ML all the time and I am as honest as they come, I was making the point that this ring was so good for the lvl to obtain it , that cheating even entered my mind, did i cheat my group no, would i ever , Not in a million years, for christ sakes man it was just a thought, you can't blame me for thinking something. Its uptight jerk-offs like you that ruin this game
Haste Stacking
# Oct 13 2003 at 10:18 PM Rating: Decent
No two items will stack only the higher of the two will be in effect...same goes with song and spell haste only the highest between song or spell...however a song or spell will stack with an item...
RE: Haste Stacking

Enchanter Haste spells DO STACK with bard haste songs BTW.
RE: Haste Stacking
# Nov 02 2003 at 10:25 PM Rating: Excellent
It's more complicated than that. IAW Lucy, posts on EQ Diva, a couple of haste charts, and some experiments (it's not always easy to tell the difference with lower hastes), item stacks with spell and song as advertised, but only certain song lines stack with spell haste. These lines don't start until the level 50 Melody and level 52 Battlecry "overhaste" lines. Incidentally, the song icons still appear and any song effects other than haste still work as advertised, probably leading to the common belief that all song haste stacks with all spell haste (after all, there's no numerical readout on the inventory screen indicating your haste %). As a rule, you're better off twisting in resist, ds, or (of course) mana/hp regen if you have a superior haster buffing your group.

Sorry for the long post (particularly for a first on this board), but it's a complex and strangely emotional topic for bards...

One of the reasons there is so much confusion about this subject is that Sony makes no effort to clarify things like this. So many things about the game are left unexplained and undocumented by the authers of it, and this leaves us to work them out for ourselves. Unfortunately the effort to do so using log parsing scripts and other such tools is often hampered by the random number generator used to determine hits and such.

It would be nice if Sony would actually document the actual haste levels given by different items, spells, and songs, and how they interact with each other, but so far they seem reluctant to do so ... and we get these unending debates.

<sigh>

First Magelo had haste at 1%, now its at 16%... does anyone really know? I mean haste is haste, 1% to 50 % lvl dependent. I would not be suprised to see this item have a higher haste when fully evaluated.

Yeah the haste is low for the level. But what about for people who generally dont melee? I mean it is all all, put this on your cleric, druid, necro, augment it with mana or a save.

My cleric likes to step in and smack the mobs now and then, and when I partner I fight constant, this would be nice little haste boost, with my wis maxed would put a save or mana on it and call it a nice upgrade. Will be 56 soon and get my proc hammer, and yaulp wich is 25% haste by spell, add 16 by item and 41% haste for when I do melee.

Druids might like to for when the mob is snared and running and they want to conserve mana instead of dotting/nuking again, necro's fear kiting.

Just because your average 55 melee wont probably make use of this doesnt me it is junk to everyone. Lots of uses beyond the normal melee classes.

We had this dropped off a female cleric (xxx Deathhealer) on a 43-49 MM run last night. I'm going to give it to my SK instead of his FBSS. I mean nice str/agi and ac + haste in a RING SLOT? Geez that is nice! Can get a nice ac/hp belt now too 8)

Also had an 11/22 1h pierce with nice resists drop, great run overall till the enchanters AE stun hit a chest trap and killed us all.

That's funny, we just got 3 named in 1 dungeon, had this ring drop (second one in 2 days...), the same piercer (Bloodied Werewolf Claw) and some int caster charisma / agility gloves.

Seems this and the spear are some of the most common drops for this level range in mmc.
