Our group scored one of these rings on an LDoN yesterday off a Crimson Cabal Challenger (3rd named mob in the dungeon). We had 5 people, myself (46 warrior), a 46 druid, 42 war, 40 war and a 41 cleric.
Druid was ML, so he pulled ring from corpse and we rolled for it. 42 war won the roll. ML wasn't happy about it, then he went LD.
We thought he might have gone LD on purpose, but he logged back in about 15 mins later and apologized, no harm no foul. ML tried to give ring to the 42 war, but he already had one. Common sense says if you have one, you can't get another, right? Apparently not. He was a newbie who got uber twinked by a friend (blade of carnage, whole 9 yards) and wanted someone to hold the ring for him till he could give his friends ring back.
We went around on this for about 10 mins trying to explain to the guy that he already had one, regardless of whether he owned it or not. He finally left group after telling us all off (even though most of us were trying to be polite about it).
Problem solved, next highest roll gets ring, right? Nope, ML wants a reroll, claiming he went LD before he got to roll (which wasn't true, i scrolled back and reviewed the rolls). Went around on that for another 5 minutes. He finally saw reason though and gave the ring to the 2nd highest roller, who was the cleric. Once this ordeal was settled, group disbanded. I was disappointed in the conduct of the twinked war and the druid (who was quite whiny about the whole thing).
I would have liked to have this ring, as I don't have a haste item and +15 str/agi would be a significant upgrade compared to what I have now (I'm a newbie as well, but not a twinked one, I earned everything I have, lousy as it is). PC'd it with my guild, got responses in the 8k range. Pretty sweet drop for a normal difficulty adventure in the mid 40s range.
Sorry for the book.
