Is this better than selo's drum of march?

I gather you mean the instrument modifier? Then this is the same as selo's. Obviously this one has stats albeit with level rec. Another thing to bear in mind is animation graphics. Selo's is held in offhand while this is held in primary. Personally I think drum in primary makes for a weird animation. Selo's look so much better.

Test Drive
# Nov 19 2004 at 9:19 PM Rating: Decent
I just bought this drum on 7th Hammer for 200p - they regularly run for 200-400p.

Took it out for a "test drive" to check the recommended level and make sure i got the full 24 mod. My bard is level 30 so if the recom level is a factor i would definitely see a change in speed using selo's.

Lined her up on one of the walls in PoK and ran to the farthest wall straight shot. Pulled out the old stopwatch and it takes her 20 seconds with this drum. Using my old tambourine with 22 mod it takes her 22 seconds.

You definitely get the full mod on this drum at lower levels.

hope this helps

Confusion
# Jan 25 2004 at 1:28 AM Rating: Decent
I would just like a clear answer to this issue. Considering the fact that this drum has a recommended lvl of 53 do you only get a fraction of the 2.4 modifier or the whole effect at any lvl before 53? Seems like the only justification for this being sold in the same bazaar as 3 SDotM for at most 1/10 the price could be that you must be 53 to use the full 2.4 modifier on the TDoDR whereas you can use the 2.4 modifier of SDotM at lvl 1. Can anyone clarify this for me with more than just yes or no answers?
RE: Confusion
# Feb 12 2004 at 12:17 PM Rating: Decent
You do get the full effect at lvl 1 from this drum. I am a lvl 57 bard and have been using this drum from day 1. You can usually buy them in the bazaar for 300p on the bristlebane server and they are really a steal at that price. Considering they are one of the top drums in the game and the price difference between these and thunderous drums is in the 10k's it really is a no brainer.
cheap

OMG PPL... the TDoK sells for around 65K+ on Vallon... if you are gettin it for under 10K buy a few and transfer a toon to Vallon and make some quick and easy cash.

tdok = thunderous drum of karana

Which sells for 10 to 20 times the price of this drum.
RE: TDoK
# Nov 14 2003 at 3:18 PM Rating: Default
that'd be great, except that you lose items in server transfers.

Not anymore.
no one wants to buy
# Oct 31 2003 at 10:56 AM Rating: Decent
I have had 5 of these drop in 12 adventures in MM. I won the roll for two of them (one is on my mule) and nobody seems to want to buy one. I am selling them for 1k. I'm pretty sure that is reasonable.
Modifier question
# Oct 24 2003 at 11:22 AM Rating: Decent
Very generous Guildy gave my alt 8th season Bard these drums yesterday. Obviously I won't benefit from the stats until I reach 53rd, but my question is; will I still get the +140% modifier even at my low season?

Mod question
# Oct 24 2003 at 11:20 AM Rating: Decent
Very generous Guildy gave my alt Bard these drums yesterday. Bard is only 8th season. Obviously the good stats won't come into effect until I reach 53rd, but, my question is; will the modifier of +140% still apply to my songs? Or will the modifier be lower, and if so what?

God that sucks you guys buying TDoK for only like 4k.Vallon Zek (PvP) they are selling for well over 20k even sometimes 30k. I guess that is what you get for being on a PvP server. I bought a TDDR for 3.5k yesterday. Lotta Inflation.

% Modifier
# Oct 14 2003 at 4:49 AM Rating: Default
The %Modifier also depends on your level but at
level 49 this drum become as good as the 35% naggy drum, i have made the test with elemental rythm songs and same results at lvl 49.

and from 49 to 53 this drum jump from 35% to a
40% modifier !

For lvl 45+ this drum is the best and it's cheap !

look?
# Oct 01 2003 at 6:34 PM Rating: Decent
what do thye look like equiped?
RE: look?
# Oct 17 2003 at 11:24 PM Rating: Decent
The drum fits in the right hand. This is opposite of most other drums. Because of this the animation doesn't look right with the Bard pounding on air with his right hand which has a huge drum attached to the outer side of his wrist.
RE: look?
# Oct 07 2003 at 12:11 PM Rating: Decent
It looks just like a standard drum when equiped. I my self was looking foward to a nice unique look like the TDoK.But still, a very nice drum indeed.
Not a bad drum...

I picked one of these up in the Bazaar on Xegony for 975pp. Since I just transferred over from a different server, and was basically naked 3 days ago, it was a nice upgrade to my UBER (*grins*)tambourine of rituals.

Yeah, not bad, although the ridiculously common Thunderous Drums of Karana, which go for 2-8k (depending on server), and have a much better percussion mod, will continue to ensure that the percussion instrument market is dead and buried.
RE: Drop
# Sep 11 2003 at 11:46 PM Rating: Default
Some people dont mind losing 15% effectivity if they can save 50% off the price of tdok. On Saryrn tdok go for 8k and selos go for 2k (sold my old one for that last week) so these should be worth something in between. Same mod as selos but +stats and primary equipable.

edit 9-13-03 sold TDDR for 2.5kp on Saryrn.

Liberal Conspiracy

TILT
I've bought TDoK on Saryrn for under 4k several weeks ago. I haven't priced them since, but at the time there was four of them for sale, ranging between 4-6k.

Saw these drums drop in Mistmoore last night, but given the stats I didn't have any reason to try to NBG them. Rolled and lost, but no biggie. With TDoK getting cheaper all the time there's little reason to get excited over these.

[edit: Last night we went on two MM adventures and saw four more of thes edrops (2 named in each, each with a drum). Expect these to be worthless quickly with that sort of drop rate]
