Dropped today on Vulak'Aerr TLP server. Was not no drop or no trade.
Uhm if this is listed as a LORE Item, I thought you cannot sell it or is that NO DROP?
Those are no trade. Lore means you can only have one.
They are NO DROP, just because they changed words doesn't change what IS and ISN'T...

This may be very rare but I think 14k is a bit high. it is for new chars and NO newbie has that much Plat or even 5k is too much unless they are buying it off the internet. Not all new players have high level alts to supply them.

Shock of Ice was recently changed from 38 DD to a 58 DD, the change included this wand. This wand is a must for any twinks! Great toy later on as well.
SO, how is that a nerf? A nerf would be something that ruins, or weakens the item, not something that makes it better.
i payed 24pp in the bazaar i think i got a good deal =)
... this seems kinda silly, but nobody has really mentioned it. This item is terrific for building faction, for example, on a Kael raid or something like that. You can just pop each mob once, get the faction, never worry about drawing heavy aggro, etc., & never spend mana to do it.
It's also fun for farming decaying skellies & gnoll pups & other little critters, since one shot quite often kills the mob, & again, you're using no mana to do it.
Sure, there's probly other ways of doing all these things (Temp Flux staff is good for faction), but what the heck, the Icy Wand is still fun to play with. I have one, nobody wants to buy it for any price, so I'll happily keep it for my own Wizzie-to-be ... :)

Yes it still drops, although rare might be a bit optimistic. I patrolled the areas mentioned below for DAYS without any luck, then one night just before bed decided to check again and third Excavator coughed it up. Downstairs lower level is where I got mine. 38 Damage no mana drop and I am a Lvl 16 Wizard, I am loving it!!! Oh and as far as selling it.... Dont even bother asking, this thing will sit with me a very long time.

Burynai Excavator, just downstairs & through a door. Was yellow to 14th lvl Beastlord, easily single-pulled, didnt hit too hard. I was kinda surprised that it dropped the Wand.

does this thing still drop?
I have killed 1000+ of these little bastards and I cant seem to get it ... I pull the whole lower lvl and kill them in 1 AE and then spend the rest of the respawn time looting them. The loot is all crap and I am waiting for that one time when i get to say WEEEE i got the wand that I have been looking for since lvl 16 :P
Another question... I am 52 now, will this even hit lvl 40 - 50 mobs. I wanted this to kill off the quad mobs that resist once and are the last standing, so i dont use mana killing that last one... will this work, or is this just going to me bank loot that i worked my *** off to get? I realize that it only hits for 38 and i will have to cast it a few times to even dent a mob, but i have this sinking feeling that they will brush it off... let me know... thanks

Ok here is how I did this...Camp for a different item....dont even think about this item...kill everything you see for 2 weeks and loot nothing. Discover u are passing up on an item worth 3k plat...loot the next exc u see ...poof....wow I am lucky...also got the iskar bezeker club the same nite...I can duplicate this every time...:)

still drops in kruns in the lower level of the basement .. got one to night 9/5/03 ...
gpt mine of the first burynai on the way downstairs. Had my poor litttle level 16 rogue soloing down there, (twinked as much as can be, except ikky, not fungi) just finished killing a greater, and a lesser icebone, when that gerbil attacked. I was very shocked to see the wand. I never knew it dropped there, and i have spent hours, well over 100 hours just messing with the badgers with my other classes. My lev 54 cleric goes down there pulls about 20 then hits them with the aoe, and they all fall down :) Kills the monotny when not finding a group for pod or poi =)

Does it drop more off of the Kurns Tower Excavators or the FOB one, or is it the same

Why the heck is this item worth so much? A level 8 spell...no stats...Am I missing something?
Manaless damage. Every wizard has used up all their mana on a mob, once, but was unable to kill it once it started walking away, because their weapon skills are nonexistant (or they don't even have a weapon). 50dmg is a lot more than H2Hing something for 2 dmg every 15 swings.
why is this worth 3k? because its a free nuke no having to cast any other spells when u go oom u can click this till the fite is over instead of sitting out the rest of it.

because with an Horse/drogmor you still regen mana while casting spells ( work with this clicky 1hb too )

I spent 5hrs tonight Killing those lil Fat B@st@rds (437 of the Excavators and excavators to be Exact) and not 1 wand drop, and i think I killed about 180 Sumthin of the Lesser Icebones and Nada, is this item Really that Rare?

My roommate just found one tonight, and someone offered him 500pp and said he would get no more than that...he wanted to see, and after some investigations, found the price is normally 2000pp on the server...god, I wish people on KB had a clue lol

Just got one today not even very far in. My first ever Burnai Excavator I just slowed, poisoned, diseased and knocked the crap out of with my Mudman enforcer and it dropped. Suffice to say after all this time I was surprized to see an item this useful drop off anything in kunark, I hope I can sell and get some nifty new shaman gear.

what exactly does this wand do? how much damage?
i had been lvling in kurns for a day or two, and i died. when i was running back i saw this dead excavator so i decided i might as well loot it. The excavator had the wand on it. Someone missed out big.

I stayed in Kurns' for a week and it never dropped. I finally bought one for about 3K. Totally worth it. Being able to chain cast this thing without using mana, rules!
I have seen the wand for sale on Luclin for much cheaper than 3k, by the way...

was in kurn's the last few nights killing E's and lessers for atleast 5 hours and several others where killing everything to get the jester to spawn, but nothing dropped the wand. i was curious if it drops in the tunnels or the jester area? and if the dang thing even drops in the game anymore!!

it still drops.....i got it tonight off the teddybear that pops right inside of door behind steps....I didnt know what it was cause it didnt have any HP info ......... Being a necro I couldnt use it so I sent a shout and in less than 5 mins I was 2800 pp richer..... heh...the vendors only wanted to give 9pp for it....

One month ago I found two within 30 minutes (two separate occasions). Now I have killed millions of the "E"xcavators over at least 8 hours of game time and nada.

Yes. Must be just timing tho. Last night, 5 minutes into my first time in the lower level of Kurns, I nailed the Jester & a lesser Icebone at the same time. The Wand dropped from one of them, don't remember which. Pure luck, but yes it still drops.
