After-patch Junk
# Oct 12 2003 at 2:59 AM Rating: Decent
So before the patch I got ten wins in Mistmoore and hailed the dwarf guy 5 times and got the message that my stone got better. I unequipped and reequipped, I zoned, I destroyed the stone and got a new one, but the stupid thing never gave me any stats.
After the patch, my stone now has 1hp/1mana. I know I'm complaining about measly junk, but shouldn't it be 2hp/2mana? I sure hope I'm not gonna get the shaft and be required to get 100 wins to get the 1 to all stats. Has this happened to anyone else? I destroyed the stone and got a new one, I reequipped my charm, etc. etc. Just wondering if anyone has the same problem as me.

So I got up to 20 wins in Mistmoore, hailed the gnome dude a couple times, and now my stone has 3hp/mana!! Argh... That is pretty dumb. I hope I don't permanently lose that 1hp/mana and always be behind by 10 wins or something. That would get annoying... Maybe I will petition some day.

I have seen the same thing on my hubby's character. He got 10 wins in MMC and couldn't see stats. Then came the patch... low and behold... 1 hp / 1 mana ...

This is a minor nerf. It used to take..

10 wins in theme = 2 hp / 2 mana

50 wins in theme = 10 hp / mana = 1 all stats

500 wins = 100 hp / mana = 10 all stats

now it would seem...

10 wins = 1 hp / mana

100 wins = 10 hp / 10 mana = 1 all stats

1000 wins = 100 hp/mana = 10 all stats

it will just take twice as long... *sigh*

I dont think this is completly acurate.
If you will look at your adventure stone, you may notice it has a Recommended level 65 tag on it. once you hit 65 i am guessing is when you get full stats on your stone.

wow, that was a long time ago ...

No, it was a bug. They fixed it with the following patch. (Hubby is and was level 65, but I don't see a recommended level on the stone, perhaps that's the charm you have it on? The PoP charm doesn't have a level 65 recommended either. *shrug*)

Because otherwise a level 20 person who accumulated the wins needed *shudder* would be 45 levels below recommendation. *Boggle* A 55 mana item with a 60 level recommendation is like 6 mana for my level 8 trader. So if at level 20 you had enough wins to have a 10 all 100 mana adv stone (never mind that winning 500 adv's you should level a little) would be 2 all 20 hp/mana ... *shreik*

I have multiple charms. Most often I use the Emerald Warrior charm, but if there's a chanter in the group I like to fight with NDT (Scarecrow illusion) which ruins my otherwise maxed Emerald Warrior faction. Fortunately, I have other charms, including one specifically for illusions.

Can additional Adventurer's Stones be obtained to augement additional charms, or is this a "pick one" situation, or maybe a "pick one and you can change it later" situation?

This is a pick one situation. However you can always change later. This is a "special" augmentation though, it will be replaced after the destructive removal process, other augmentations will not be replaced after removal.
Statz Clarifications
# Oct 08 2003 at 10:10 AM Rating: Decent
I finally had 10 wins in one location (EF). Here's what I had to do to get the (crappy for now) statz on my AUG - which is in my PoP Charm. <Keep in mind - I don't have all the answers, but trying to provide a little info.> I'm not sure if everyone hails the same person - or - If I had to hail the Vahl Shir cause I am one. But I had to hail her (Vahl Shir NPC in EF) 5 times - each time she told me something in red. I guess you can do that every two wins or just wait until you have 10 wins to do it all at once. ANyway - after the 5th time I received a message that my statz were upgraded. Once I received that message, I unequipped my charm and put it back on. Then I had my 2hp/mana. The statz were good inside and outside the dungeons.
So don’t expect to get your 10 wins and have the statz just show up.

Hope this helped a bit.

what you gotta do
# Oct 05 2003 at 10:50 AM Rating: Default
Latest word is that you need 3 successes in all 5 themes and 10 in one before you will see stats on stone.
RE: what you gotta do
# Oct 08 2003 at 2:32 AM Rating: Decent
I got the first upgrade after ten adventures in one theme. Hadn't even tried all the others.
RE: what you gotta do
# Oct 11 2003 at 8:06 PM Rating: Good
You are correct. I have gotten several stat-ups on my adventurer's stone, and there is still a theme I don't have three wins in (South Ro).

Every 2 adventures you can hail a certain npc at the camp you will gain important information. After the 10th adventure your hail will improve the stone. If you right click on the stone it will show nothing different from before. Now take it and any charm (intricate wooden figurine) for example and place it in the bird bath. Hit combine. Re-equip the charm and right click stats. It will now show the stone as an augment. Click on the augmented link and it will now show the improvement of +2 HP +2 mana.

From a post below this is how it increases in stats:
Max stats: 10ac, 10 to all stats and sv's, 100hp/mana

10 successes in *one* theme = 5 bits of knowledge from the adventurer stone quest NPC = 1 boost to your augment

1 boost to your augment = 2hp/mana

every 10hp/mana = 1 ac, 1 to all stat/sv's

minimum successes required to max out aug = 500

as much as that sounds, it won't take that much time... perhaps a month or two if you're an above-average of a typical gamer (in between "typical" and "hardcore")

As of early October Povar has the best player around 175 wins. As for myself I am at a paultry 25. Remember, the statement about how long it will take is from a post from below.

RE: augment your charm
# Oct 04 2003 at 3:56 PM Rating: Decent
In order to get 500 successes in one month you would have to win 17 adventures every day...I wouldn't exactly classify that as 'in between "typical" and "hardcore"' playing, especially because that means spending 25 hours a day in dungeons.

Please excuse a bit of rounding because of a rediculous amount of decimal places.

500wins/30days = 16.666
16.666wins * 1.5hours = 24.999hours

24.999hours/day is not only more than hardcore, it's called impossible. Even to do it in 2 months would require 8.333wins per day, and 12.5hours per day.

1 months: 16.666 wins per day = 24.999hours per day
2 months: 8.333 wins per day = 12.5hours per day
4 months: 4.15 wins per day = 6.2hours per day
6 months: 2.75 wins per day = 4.2hours per day

Ok, then add time for finding a group and getting ready to enter the dungeon, and you will see that it will take atleast 4 months from release before we start seeing more than a few people with maxxed LDoN charms. So, thanks for your assinine estimations, but you are WAY off.

I was in a group where I was the only non-member of a particular guild where we clobbered the zones. My best experience time wise was 3 successes in 2.25 hours. However, most of my experiences have taken most of the 90 minutes allotted.

Heu... just wanna let you know : You have a MAXIMUM of 90 minutes to complete an adventure. Rethink you basic maths with the fact some peep are using maps, a LOT of DPS, luck and mostly "collect" adventures.

Best group and fastest win I got was : WAR, BST, CLE, ENC, MAG, WIZ(me) in 34 minutes from start to finish (inside dungeon). Heck, we even got time to kill 2 named :)

After my tenth win in MMC, I talked to Vual stoutest for my 5th "vital piece of information." When I did I got a new yellow message saying "Your Adventurer's Stone glows with new power" or something similar to that. I assumed this meant I got the stats on my stone. Well, no stats. I tried putting it into my charm, and still no stats. Re-equipped it, no stats. I have no idea what's going on.

On a side note, for those of you adventuring in MMC, there is an NPC in LFay, near a fork in the path running south from Gfay zone, who also gives "Vital Pieces of Information," just like Vual Stoutest does at the BB camp. I don't know what his purpose is, but talking to him for his 5 pieces of info (after 10 wins) did nothing also. I'm lost.

EDIT: 12 Wins now. 6 pieces of info from Vual, still no stats.

The charms that you buy from the adventure merchants only give stat bonuses while you are in an adventure dungeon. The same is probably true for the adventurer's stone. Try checking the stats again when you're on an adventure.

I hope this helps some

Dragnor's Cauldron

After 22 wins he told me I still needed to do more adventurers and my stone still has no stats.

This NPC is just outside Blackburrow, in Qeynos Hills. Just run straight out the BB entrance, towards the small shelter. The Erudite standing next to that lean-to is your man.
RE: wheres ubzial?

Ubzial is in Everfrost Peaks, just outside ramp to Halas zone. If you zone in from PoK and as you are facing PoK book, go to your left. Run towards the BB entrance and in a Cul de Sac to the right, behind a large boulder of ice, is where Ubzial is hiding.

Ignore me, thinking of wrong character...too late to think...need sleep. Sorry for confusion.

Can anyone clarify where this stone works? Does it only grant stats in LDoN zones, or is it good anywhere? I’ve seen people here say both. Thanks!
No stats
# Sep 22 2003 at 5:37 PM Rating: Default
People who are stressed out over not seeing their stats on their charms with the Adventurers stone in them only need to do one thing.....

Look at the stats while you are in an LDoN Adventure. The stats on the adventurers stone are only good while adventuring in LDoN and have no effect in the other expansions. However, If one gets a charm from LOY the stats on the adventure stone may show up.

Ughh! Now mine are Gone too! I swear they were there and now they are not. OK, so now I am confused again.

Your wrong...
Way to confuse anyone that might need help. Dont post if you dont know what youre talking about, please.

Anyway, the Adventure Stone DOES work outside of LDoN zones, even if you augment it to one of the merchants LDoN zone charms it will still work anywhere.
Just get your 10 wins in a theme, hail the proper guy at wayfarer camp 5 times, and augment the stone to a charm, then equip that charm and voila, theres your new stats (dont get excited tho, they aint much : )

augmentation
# Sep 20 2003 at 4:42 AM Rating: Excellent
Something I have noticed is that a lot of folks are saying they can't equip the adventures stone. It is a augmentation stone itself and has to be affixed to a charm. Hope this helps a few folks out.
When time comes for new aug?
# Sep 15 2003 at 12:06 PM Rating: Decent
When you first receive this stone, the NPC who gives it to you tells you that if you ever need it replaced, to come see him and he'll give you a new one, I would presume then, that in doing so, the stats you've already gained would carry over? Mainly concerned for the day I charm upgrade...
RE: When time comes for new aug?
# Sep 16 2003 at 6:52 PM Rating: Decent
Second the question. With the aug being lore, you have to desroy it in your old charm before you can put the new one in. Go back, get another adventurers stone, and will all your stats still be there?

RE: expansions needed
# Sep 22 2003 at 11:05 PM Rating: Decent
I'll speak up on this tread since it seems like there's a bit of confusion.

You do NOT need LoY to use the Adventurer's Stone. What you DO need to do is use a few of your AP and purchase a charm from any of the vendors then augment THAT charm with the Adventurer's Stone.

If you do happen to have a LoY charm you can go ahead and augment that if you wish.

Hope this clears up a bit of the confusion.

so i cant use it in my intricate wooden figurine? thats where it is now and it has zero stats after 10 wins in RH and 6 in miraguls if it only works with the LoY/LDoN type charms then that makes sense but if its supposed to work with all charms then why doesnt it work for me? ive checked stats in and out of LDoN adventures and still have nothing please help me
RE: expansions needed
# Sep 19 2003 at 6:37 PM Rating: Decent
No you do not need both. The item itself is not equippable, it is an AUGMENTATION which means you must combine it in the bird bath looking thing with a charm. You may not equip it and you may not combine it with anything other than a charm.
RE: expansions needed
# Sep 22 2003 at 5:35 PM Rating: Decent
You do need both because the augmentation stone is Charm only. So if you can't equip a charm then you can't use this stone. The only thing it will allow you to do is move from camp to camp using the magus.
RE: expansions needed
# Sep 18 2003 at 12:32 PM Rating: Decent

You get the bonus after 5 information units are acquired. You get an information unit by killing 2 missions from the same waycamp. The 5 information units have to be obtained from the same camp for stone to increase.

Hail everyone in the camp till you get the one that gives info for winning. When you find him, hail him a few more times and it should give you a yellow message saying your stone got better. If it doesn't, I hate to say yer SoL. Remember to hail every 2 missions or you no get upgrade.

There are charms that you can "buy" from the Adventure Merchants with your APs. Some of them cost only 6 APs, but there are higher level ones which become available as you've run more adventures for a specific area.

I got the stone today, but I have not purchased the latest upgrade???? However, the NPC asked me to go to a place I have never heard of so perhaps we can get the stone but not advance it until we buy the upgrade...?

That sounds likely. Still sort of silly to let you get a stone you can do nothing with except look at and be confused. ;P Once you have your stone and a group you are able to get the new LDoN adventures from the adventure recruiter in the various wayfarer camps. However if you didn't get the expansion then the zones would be unavailable to you. I don't know what effect if any this would have on other group members. It may be that the recruiter will refuse to give out an adventure if someone is not flagged for LDoN.

If someone in your group doesn't have the expansion it will say,"Soandso can't go on any adventures" or something like that. Had this happen to me tonight cuz the guy forgot to register his account key.

this is a copy of my post of a oopy of nytrous post of a co.. you get the picture :P
as I didnt see this posted, posting it.. originally posted by nytrous, explaining how the stone works (or at least worked during the latter part of beta)
Current mechanics of the Adventurer Stone charm augment:

Max stats: 10ac, 10 to all stats and sv's, 100hp/mana

10 successes in *one* theme = 5 bits of knowledge from the adventurer stone quest NPC = 1 boost to your augment

1 boost to your augment = 2hp/mana

every 10hp/mana = 1 ac, 1 to all stat/sv's

minimum successes required to max out aug = 500

as much as that sounds, it won't take that much time... perhaps a month or two if you're an above-average of a typical gamer (in between "typical" and "hardcore")

Currently I'm at around:
10 guk, 6 miragul, 14 mistmoore, 10 rujarkian, 10 takish`hiz wins... 8hp/mana on my charm aug (posted by nytrous)

Can i bind the item now to my charm and still have it increase in stats or do I need full stats then bind the item?

Also If I don't have the charm on me that is augmented does that mean I can't travel via Magus? Basically are they soulbound?

Once you get the stone you are "flagged" for it. You can distroy it, bank it, use it on your charm... whatever. It's the flagging process that allows you to use the magus. And you can bind it to your charm at any time. It will go up as the Wayfarer's like you more.
