While I normally wouldn't use an item like this, I find it excellent in LDON adventures when I am not the Main Tank (usually when there's a Knight doing the pulling). For non Elementally equipped Warriors, the high comparative damage, somewhat high delay, and the Saving Throw Bonuses make this an ideal weapon. The higher delay is compensated by the damage, meaning you can still deal out some hurt while not gaining the aggro for it. I find when using these that I don't compromise aggro generation by the Main Tank in any way (I can, with lower delay weapons, sometimes steal aggro from the main tank, particularily when those weapons proc). In the Planes, I usually go with a 2H weapon to avoid aggro generation, but what tends to happen is my damage outpot is slower, evening out the longer a fight goes and eventually surpassing 1HS weapons (this is only personal observation, mind you). In the Planes, this isn't so bad since it's just as useful in a fight, but in LDON, where speed is key, you want to dish out as much as you can in as short a period of time as possible.
I like weapons like this that don't seem all that great for a class at first glance (at 50, there are superior weapons a Warrior can use, obviously). They fill a niche that didn't seem to previously exist.
My Cleric still has them equipped, they didn't poof with the patch. I guess as long as I don't take them off they are still giving me Wisdom and saves.
Now that I would petition. They should return the augment, at the very least. I can understand if they decide an item should have race or lcass limits, but to not refund the augment would be plain stupid.
I put one of these on my lvl 20 shaman, 6 damage 28 delay at his level, but it still hits for 30 damage like it was a 15 damage 28 delay. Do all recomended level items still hit for full damage even if you are 30 levels lower than recomended?
52 wood elf bard Jambatan 51 iksar warrior Jundackson and my alt that has weapon 20 troll shaman Togor
I'm a rog and I put this in my primary. The reason behind this is that finding a piercer with 15 dmg is tough in the first place. I can double stab for over 1K if I land maximum on both, and I have. I don't have the points yet to get the SWEET dagger that's in Everfrost *Drools on himself* The delay is kind of low true, but with my stanos wicked gaunlets(Right click haste that stacks with worn and cast haste) and a Cowl of Mortality(my Worn haste item) it had become a moot point. A worthwhile upgrade for any rog with a decent haste %
A claw dropped the other day on a adventure and had myself a level 55 shaman still using a REIF and the Rogue drooling. But the Necro in the group won the roll and they ended up being sell loot in the bazaar instead of a upgrade for myself or the rogue.
Picked these up on the first day of the release with my 59 Cleric. I can almost pass for a warrior now with these and a shield equipped, lol. Was thinking of selling them so I can actually afford some of my level 60 spells. Anyone have an idea of what these should go for?
Highest 6k. That's around what comparable items are selling for. Seen one guy trying to seel em for 10K been about 10 day's and he still hasn't sold them and I doubt he every will at that price.
This weapon would make a solid Beastlord off-hand weapon until you completed your epic. With the wisdom bonus, this is an ideal weapon. There are not a lot of piercers with that decent of dam/delay for those under 50. If you level a BST the right way (not powerlevel) you can easily have all 3 1hd weapon skills maked by 45. There is a large gap in the availability of H2H weapons prior to raid sized groupings. Just wanted to say Kudos to Sony for giving us on RZ a way to make our gear no-drop!
Prim. only dude. If this was Prim/Secondary you'd have Clerics and Mages ******* dual-wielding.. which would be awesome but still, lol. Shaman dual-wielding /drool
Got these in a mid 50s group for my beastlord. The saves are nice but I really think they should modify this for offhand. Kind of hurts the procs on my gold inlaid ulak when I have to wear it in offhand. The saves on this are great though, so I haven't decided yet whether to go with them or not.
For sure. If you can max your Wis/Int without this item, then your not trying. The SV +7s for lvl 50 has got to grab your attention. I think most people don't even pay attention to the SVs though.
