question

What I don't understand is why the gargoyle granites (foraged item used to make Gothic armor) sell almost instantly at 200pp each when the final armor piece itself only sells for 200-500pp anyway. What gives? I mean, this gothic armor is mediocre at best, and must be difficult to sell, yet the gargoyle granites sell almost instantly at 200pp.

Any tradeskiller know why?

It's a skillup path -- a "bridge," as tradeskillers call it -- that gets one closer faster to 250 skill. Because the trivials on the LODN plates are over the 188 for fine plate, and easily collected (or cheaply bought) as opposed to the previous options, they allow rich folks to power through what used to be excessive tedium. And time = money, as always.
whats wrong with goth?

It's a light gray. If I remember correctly, the RGB values were 150ish across the board.
Gothic? LOL

Right...because there was no gothic anything before Diablo 2.

Actually, Gothic armor existed back in the renassance times as well. The Goths of Germany developed Gothic Plate, and it was the most advanced and powerful plate armor ever devised. Learned that on the history channel *nods*

The first Diablo had a Gothic plate as well. But honestly, what's wrong with borrowing an idea? Does it really matter that it was used twice? Personally, I'm glad one of my more favorite features was implemented into more than just one of my favorite games.

Actually Item Augmentation Slots were around way before Diablo II. Final Fantasy for one and there have been several Pencil and Paper RPG's with them. Just and FYI
