Funny thing about this is that if you download the expansion Sony gets ALL the money you paid, but if you buy it at retail they get less than half of the money you paid. So they're giving you an extra just so they can make LESS money? Goodness, is retail shelf space THAT precious?

hehe.. bought the CD in Wal-mart for $5.00.. seems someone had pilfered the rest of the CD's in the box that this one came out of.. sweet talk always works :) Got it for my 3rd acct.

uh....i remember times when i went to eqatlas on a daily basis....printed off maps(ewww....HARDCOPY!!) and hoped i didnt get lost...loy brought a VERY efficient map system, charms, quest spells and not to mention MANY items and zones for 50+. I for one am very pleased with loy.

Can the reinforced version be upgraded further?
When I tried going back to Kizpi he says he is busy experimenting with the strange stones they find and when you get the reinforced version from Dahdd Jonne he mentions that Kizpi forgot to include a few ingredients to make it which leads me to believe there are more ingredients to upgrade the satchel even further. Anyone know?

On on of my accounts I purchased the retail version of LDON and the other ones I used online ordering. I think Sony is trying to rip us off. On the retail box account at the server screen it says all expansion. It also says this for the online ordered accounts too. But the online ordered accounts still have update expansions button option. I would bet anything that Sony wants the people that purchased online to run out to the store and get the box version for the bag. And that is why those that ordered online can still update the account. What a way to ***** over your best players. Just like monthly GM events and GMs on all servers 24/7. Oh never mind that you have to pay 40 dollars a month to get that now.
This is not a rip-off.
If you buy online, you don't get the bag. If you buy in a store you do.
But, if you were to buy online and that made it IMPOSSIBLE to ever get the bag, THAT would be the rip-off! Instead, all you have to do is enter the code you got with your store version.
This is great for people who bought online, since in a few months they'll be able to pick up the boxed game for less than the difference between the pre-order and the store version at discount stores, ebay, etc.

I had that when I downloaded LoY online. you still have to hit the update expansions for it to realize that you have it. It is not smart enought to realize it on its own -- just like the box set you have to register its CD code.
Once you hit update it will automatcally have the name of the new expansion and register it so you will no longer have that annoying button

I have hit the update button twice now and it shows that I have all the expansions but button is still there. This is why I think Sony is trying to get people to pay for the expansion twice.

Hmm.. Did you check to make sure LDoN was the one it said it was updating? Thats all I can think of cause I forgot to check the first time I tried to register LoY. The second time I made sure it was the one being updated and hit submit.
But if you've done that, then ya I think something may be wrong with the info transfer cause it didn't do that to my brothers account from his online dowload.

You know what the information on the satchel was in a log in message and on the everquest site as well as the branch site for LDoN. If you had looked at either sight or seen the login message you would have been able to make that decition for yourself. THIS time im pretty sure that Verrant/sony is not out to get you. It may just be that you were in too much of a hurry to look.
It's a decent bag for free. I personally got the boxed version so that if I had to re-install, I wouldnt have to download quite so many gigabytes of info again. I bought LoY on CD for the same reason. Plus the box version came with free shipping from ebgames, a 30 day premium membership to allakhazam and a pretty tite little key chain as well.
If you downloaded, cool...just don't flame everyone that didn't out of bitterness or what-not. It's a decent bag on top of all the other goodies. I know several people that are kicking themselves for not ordering the box. Mine even showed up at my door 2.5 hours before patching was complete. >)

Well, not exactly. But with the 10% off, and the free overnight shipping, the retail version only cost $26.99. Besides, I feel safer knowing I have the disc to reinstall should the need arise (even though I know it would download them if I needed it to).

Sheesh...why are all you people complaining about the supposed price difference between the download and the disc version? Most stores (Best Buy in particular) are selling them for the same price as you could have gotten it online, shop around rather than complain.
i dont know where the 6 extra dollars comes from between online and hard copy versions. it was two dollars more in the store i got it from. i just like having the hard copy available to me JUST IN CASE i need to reinstall. the bag.....ok it's cool but nothing to wig out over....go to guk and get yourself an evil eye bag...its 70% wgt red.

I visited the different camps and got this nice little item. I thought that I would be required to get the items needed to upgrade the orginal bag from a dungeon, but the NPCs gave the items to me.

Back when LDoN was first announced, there was some information indicating if you ordered the physical copy of the game, this bonus would be included. Granted I'd forgotten all about it till I installed the game and was flipping thru the information included, but it was indeed mentioned some months ago.

Lol, it's not that good to justify the extra money for the boxed version, especially when you have multiple accounts. Buy a tink bag, kill a dragon, do the rallic pack quest, get a grandmaster's sachel, etc... all those are better. If the reinforced sack had 15-20 slots, maybe I'd be annoyed, but this isn't worth being mad about. :p
I agree. I downloaded the expansion, rather than ordering the retail, in full awareness of this free stachel. Quite frankly, every one of my alts already has a rallic pack (patterns easy to get, pelts sell for 20pp in bazaar).
