yeah me (Spidera) and my friend (kiese) were playing and im trying to do the epic for my weapon, but I looked at your post and I told him we went to the entrance of the city and me and him couldn't find him. if anyone knows what exact spot/s you can find him. bodhisfattva I have sat at the spot for 2 hours and found nothing but Ancient, and the other type of gargoyles but cant find the old gargoyle. some one please HELP ME!!!! (:

Just to let you all know I camped the front where everyone says it is, for 2 days and nothing.. I got summoned up on one and walked around up top of the roofs and found the Old dude sitting on top of one of the roofs in back.. he was in a spot you couldn't even see from the ground floor, So try and find a way to get summoned and look around up there... BTW if he has the tome you will see a brown bag in his left hand.. good luck.. off to get the Elaborate Hinge.. hope that info is right..

Here is a nice little trick to get onto the roof tops.
When you are on the ramp overlooking the entrance to the city, to left at the top is a Gargoyle PH (above Ghost of Kindle). Sit down and send your pet to attack it, he will instaly summon you to the roof. :)

You can invisible to the gargs area and fd under the overhang. From here, use your pet to target and kill all of the gargs. I cycled from targetting destroyed to old Garg and after getting the old let pet get him to 9% and backed pet off. Old died in front of me so i looted and left. Thanks to Sliren of prexus for the hints and motivation.

This is nearly impossible to do solo during the odus event.

His PH is a destroyed gargoyle. Kill enough and he will pop. On a side note, the ruined gargoyle on the top left tower of the entrance is a ph for an ancient gargoyle, cons red to 52 enchanter.

This is now a part of the necromancer 2.0 epic. Little by little everquest lore is getting better and better. BTW all of you that blast the lore.... when a lore type quest comes out all you do is complain lol... make up your minds

maybe there is a quest with this that will actually tie all the crappy lore in eq together :P
Well, I guess we could take this over to PoJustice and give it to Zeanous and see if it's the Tome he's looking for.

Saw this guy up on a wall at entrance to city Dark blue to 53 wizzy quick fight with my group of 6, didnt drop tome =(

Not sure if this guy is a random spawn, but I found him just as you are entering the city. He was on the top of the wall above the first two ghost mobs as you are entering the city. He was light blue to a 65, same as the other gargoyles between there and the zone. Easy kill.

the Old Gargoyle and the Old Construct have some decent drops on them. I am not sure about the Old Gargoyle but the construct i have seen spawn in 3 different locations and that leads me to believe that he is just a random spawn wherever the others are. I would bet the same is for the Gargs...so kill a ton of em and watch your reapawns and try to confim the theory.
