This nice item comes from an Ashenbone Brood Master. The Brood Master is 55 or 56. It conned yellow to me ( 54 ). The Ashenbone Brood Master is on a 72 Hour spawn time ( 3 Days ). This is a very rare drop, just like when it use to drop off of Inny. This is how it is so flame all you want ;).

I've read elsewhere that this item will assist us in summoning stronger pets. Is there any truth to this?

Yea, it allows Necros to summon larger, meaner pets.
It ups it's attack speed, damage, HP, and size, as well as other stats, and you only need to hold it while summoning it. With the Minion of Shadows (53 pet), for instance, it quads for 59 points, and backstabs for 169 max.
Now couple this with a Spectre pet at level 59... I shudder to think of the effect. :)

Spectre pet is marginally better then the 49 pet... even focused, sadly. The pet is HUGE focused, and its kinda fun having a large spectre following you around.
Also, the encyclopedia must be in your PRIMARY hand when summoning to actually get a focused pet. For a week after I got it, I was using it in secondary, and wondering why none of my pets were larger or hitting any harder. :p

as of the last patch were they better hi lvl pet now eot beats the other pets has almost the same dmg out put at the rogue pet and has way more hp than the warrior pet specially witht he book
