I spent 5 levels and 9 AA camping the luggalds from the secret room back to the room with the named Bishop.

All 3 dropped from the single luggald (not the one in the secret room) by the short ramp down. It was an occultist once and a reaver once. I forget the third one.

Saw the Bishop once, too, through all that.

Drop rate

I may have been lucky, but it was not the worst drop rate ever.

I camped the secret room, the two luggald before the Overlords room facing each other, the luggald by the staircase at 1299.43 -967, the three in the skull room, and the three next to the skull room.

The only one to drop it was the one in the secret room, although it dropped from an abomination the first two times, and an arcanist the third time.

I ran the cycle 6 or 7 times and got all three drops.

If you are soloing the secret room and would prefer not to chase it through the halls, you can drag it to the first corner in the water and kill it there.
Twice in a row

After killing the luggald behind the secret door, in the pond room and in the Water Spirit pool room room (see locations on these here http://www.eqatlas.com/ykesha/torgiransminesmap.html ), despairing that I did not get a single drop, I decided to go exploring and find other spawnpoints to camp. The luggald by the staircase at 1299.43, -967,10 dropped one twice in a row, and the third one finally dropped off the luggald behind the secret door.

The many rooms full of luggalds seems to just exist to mess with your head =)It's a harsh quest; good luck to all seeking to finish it.

The level 52 Wizard Ykesha spell quest requires Luggald Heart and that drops in:
Crypt of Nadox

* a luggald abomination (Level: 53)
* a luggald initiate (Levels: 50 - 51)

Dulak's Harbor

* an emissary of hate (Levels: 44 - 50)

Torgiran Mines

* a luggald abomination (Levels: 52 - 55)

I assume each of those areas have a chance of dropping the mage drop. I will report back.

Drops
# Feb 08 2007 at 7:33 AM Rating: Decent
I got two drops of this from Luggald Arcanists. One was above the stairs on the way to the room with the skull. The other was a pop in the place with two luggald before the Overlords room. My third drop was from a Luggald Abomination in that loc. I did the tasks in gunthak and killed luggalds in Torgiran running back and forth over a period of a couple of days. No drops the first day, three drops the second day.

I concur. I've been killing literally every single luggald in succession in the north half of Torgiran mines for many many hours over 3 days with my 80 zerk and have had only 2 drop. I can confidently say that I've killed at least 600 luggalds so far.

Both dropped from reavers in the room near Ngrub's room where only 2 luggald spawn facing each other.

This drop is *very* rare.
Just dropped

I have camped this dude behind the one way way for days and have yet to see anything but luggald daggers, tridents, and gems drop. This is saysing it drops every 3-4 kills has this been nerfed and allah just not updated. Another mage in our guild camped just about every luggald in torigan and onle got 1 in about a weeks worth of camping.
Any luggald could drop them

I camped the mines for 3 night 2 hours each night and the luggalds that droped them for me were the following:

1st - A Luggald Abomination
2nd - A Luggald Reaver
3rd - A Luggald Occultist

The abomination was behind that secret wall
The reaver was deep in and down stairs right before you enter the big oval shaped room
&
The Occultist was standing by a ramp leading down to another room he was located right outside the 2 rooms that each had 3 luggalds in.
No drop for me

luggald behind the secret door
# Dec 18 2003 at 12:14 PM Rating: Decent
It was easy for me to get him out of the room. Use eye of zomm on the secret door and the eye will be inside the room.(clay bracelet works great for this) Target the mob and release eye. Send pet in and when he attacks back him off untill he comes out of the room and the mob will follow. Since there is only one spawn that roams that corner you only have one mob to watch for in the 24 min spawn. Also the spawn is exactly 24mins and 27 seconds.

Along with all the changes that have been made this mob now can see through the one way wall.
It WILL agro you if you stand near the wall.

Be careful trying to use yourself as bait to agro this mob through the one-way wall (aprox 1750, -655). I have done it a number of times successfully but one time I died in less than 3 seconds. I was a 53 level mage in a full grp with a healer. I had no idea I would die that fast. I could not move and saw myself returning to my bind point with 67% health! That means the luggald behind the wall drained 67% of my health in one hit.

I have camped this spot several times. The first time I got 2 strength of lavas within an hour and a half. The other times I got none from about 4 1/2 hours of pops from behind the wall. I would put my pet on guard in front of the wall. When he turned to face the wall I knew the luggald had popped behind it.

A slower is helpful here too.

I finally got my thrid one from another player's bank as he offered to multiquest it for me. He turned in the first one and I turned in the last two. It's worth it to talk to the people in the zone with you. :)

It dropped elsewhere for mah.
# Dec 01 2003 at 10:43 AM Rating: Decent
Just so y'all know, it does drop elsewhere. It dropped at the paired spawn near the big room with the two rows of broken skull folks.

It does drop elsewhere...it drops most commonly from the camp outlined below. We've camped Torg for a few weeks now for various guildies and that is the most consistant drop location we've documented. Too bad it's on about a 24 min. timer. :)

Best place for drop
# Nov 25 2003 at 10:12 PM Rating: Decent
It's all about this line...

Go to the Torgiran Mines and camp the luggald behind the secret door near location +1750, -650.

I have yet to see this item drop of any other Luggald. I am sure it does, but if time is a concern this is THE spot to camp.

-It did drop off of other Luggalds than the Abomination for me. In fact, I have yet to have an Abomination drop one for me there.

- Spawn is on approx. a 24 min timer

-Drop rate of about 1 in 3 or 4 is accurate. I got 2 in 8 kills.

-We had to agro the mob from behind the wall by swimming thru corridor and bringing him out...we couldn't get him to agro thru the wall to us.

-Slow is nice here. Our group was full of 52's (Mage, Shm, Enchanter, SK, Cleric and Pally) and did fine. Wouldn't go without slow at that level or healer.

Good luck.

If this information ever was genuinely accurate, it is no longer. Killed that spawn at least 25 times and have yet to see a drop.
