Ya so I picked one of these up today before I knew that the focus is +35% to DD spells. Being a 70th sk whose HT max is currently around 9.7k damage this should put me well over 10k for a max HT. Very nice ring for a sk, all I can say is THATS GONNA HURT!
Honestly Uk ((And you're on my server so I know you)) at you're stage of the game, you should have IHT, which is ONLY affected by flat out spell damage modifiers, like ID line. Druzzil line is Magic only, and since IHT has no resist line, it's unafffected by this particular focus.
Omg, is everyone that makes a post on these threads under the age of 12? I would really like to know! I have played EQ for 3 1/2 years now, and almost every item I have ever looked up I see people crying about why they cant use a item or why tey think another class shouldnt be able to use it. Christ grow up, there are so many items each class gets and it is a thing called balancing or have YOU noobs never thought of that. Bottom line this is a nice ring for whom ever the lucky sob to have the points to bid for it, and for those of you that are crying that i will never see loot like this, all you have to do is play your class well and work your way into a guild and items come to you like x-mas in a toy store, if you know anything about the game that is. Take the SSra loot, some nice stuff drops out of there but if your not in a guild that is on rotation for the Emp you will never see any of it. and when you do get on rotation there are only 6 mobs that drop uber gear and each only drops about 4-6 items, so lets do the math thats about 24-36 items from one raid, and you only need a raid force of 30+ to do the cursed cycle so everyone will probaly get a item. Do the cycle a few times and damn you now are almost uber, it just takes time, PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE
I don't think that anyone was really complaining about not being able to use or not use this particular piece of equipment. From the comments, I think we were all wondering how SOE decides which classes can use a particular piece of equipment.
The classes that can use this particular ring seem to be pulled out of a hat. However, Darkyness may have it right that the more offensive hybrid classes (SK/Ranger), Shammies, and maybe Bards may get too much benefit from this item for the risk involved in getting it.
I think that discussion does not necessarily equal complaining.
Not that I have a snowball's chance of ever seening this piece of equipment, but why did they not make this Shadow Knight useable? Is it a roleplaying thing? I would assume that an item that is both Necro and Pally usable should be able to wore by us dark knight types.
Wrath of Druzzil increases spell damage by 35%... perhaps they thought it might be a bit too excessive considering all the OTHER things that have been implemented to increase Harm Touch and Lifetap damage for ShadowKnights...
Maybe they parsed it out, maybe they decided to just give it to certain classes for the hell of it... but if it wasn't meant for us, we probably don't need it... =)
