Improved Healing V
# Jan 21 2005 at 8:16 AM Rating: Decent
Will this overwrite the Improved Healing V benefit from the Sanctified Sleeves from the OoW Tier 1 quest armor?

Yes, it would. The highest level of a modifier is used. The 30% from the BP would override the 20% from the Arms.

Note that the BP effects spells through 67th level. This means that Pious Light (Cleric 68th) and Word of Vivification (Cleric 69th) would have a reduced effect. It would only be +27% (30% - 3% which is 10% of the bonus) for PL and +24% for WoV. Even then, the bonus would still overwrite the bonus from the OOW armor.

There are different types of effects for spells that do stack with each other. Range, Duration, Mana cost, Casting Time, Bonus percent to heal all stack. But two effects of the same type do not. When in doubt, check with Lucy's Raw spell view and then Stacking. It will let you know what effects are on the same list. The highest effect is used.

Skill Mod : Specialize Alteration +8%
# Feb 18 2004 at 1:47 PM Rating: Decent
The listed Skill Mod is wrong. It's Specialize Alteration +8%, *not* Alteration +8%.

Does the effect on the Chestplate stack with the Boots effect or does it overwrite the Boot effect?
RE: Effect.
# Oct 31 2003 at 5:52 PM Rating: Decent
Yes, they will "stack" in a sense because they are two unrelated effects. The boots decrease the mana cost of casting a spell, the bp increases the power of a heal. Thus, if you were to cast Supernal Light, the boots would reduce the mana consumed on cast and the bp would increase the hp healed.

The bp will, however, overwrite the effect on the arms, which is an issue SOE needs to look into fixing.

The skill raise on the BP "can" effect the amount of mana saved on a successful check against Alteration. This will stack with the Focus effect on boots which will save mana every cast (although I believe the amount saved each time can vary).

Don't take me to court on this, this is just the way I believe it works,

Just got this BP last night too =p
Stupid Question
# Sep 02 2003 at 7:55 PM Rating: Decent
Sorry but I need to ask a stupid question. I thought there was a hard cap on skills and if that's the case, then the Alteration Mod Skill wouldn't help. If I 'm wrong then please correct me.

There is, 235, but the bp gives +8% to the 235, which is when worn only 253.8 You will not see that number in your skill window, only because this is passive.
RE: Stupid Question
# Sep 18 2003 at 6:28 PM Rating: Default
It would actually give you a skill of 252, since that is the overall cap on all skills. 8% is the minimum needed to bring alteration up to that cap; a 7% increase would only bump it up to 251. Meditation is the only skill I know of that can reach 252 without mods.

you mean 26 levels, plus getting flagged for Plane of Time, where these molds drop, plus successfully killing a mob that drops this, and having the DKP to win it. All I can say is "Good Luck to you"

Don't forget to mention that most of the guilds who are flagged for time have AA minimums also, so its more like 26 more levels, 100+aa, plus gear that meets their minimum requirements, such as having one or more insta cast clicky buffs, 100+ (or higher) to all resists, plus having to go thru their screening process.

Then you start at the BOTTOM rungs, and have to catch up in DKP (or whatever system they use) with the other people who still want this BP, and since this is the hardest piece to get, I can guarantee you that even among most "uber" guilds, you'll find plenty of other plate classes needing this piece.

I don't want to discourage anyone but getting to 65 is the easy part. Heck getting the AA isn't that tough either. Getting the itemization and the required keys (most time enabled guilds want you to have VT key these days) is tougher but doable. Now you have to raid enough to warrant getting what is likely the best drop of the raid. And THAT can take a while.

I know this isnt constuctive, and i know this is already obvious to everyone, but OMFG that is the most increadable item i have ever seen in my entire life! I remember when i first saw the mail of judgement i was drooling, this is borderline rediculous, too bad i will never in my entire life be able to get halfway powerful enough to get it 8*^(
RE: DAMN!
# Nov 25 2003 at 1:09 PM Rating: Decent
I would take the Mail of Judgement over this unless I already have the FT. Of course, FT is getting easier and easier to get nowadays...

*** edit: In fact, when I posted this, little did I realize that I would hit FT15 within 3 months of the posting. Maxxing FT can be trivial once a guild is elemental. And I was wrong to begin with - since the armor mod now reads specialize alteration +8%, and the Marr's Blessing focus is very tough to get, it would be a rare set of circumstances that would cause me to keep a VT tunic over this. ***
