DEX for pure casters and all others who use spells. What it does in regards to casting...
1. Helps determines accuracy and spell casting capability in combat.
2. Helps calculate missile(nuke)combat skills
3. Helps determine if you're interrupted when you're hit while casting a spell.
There are a total of 8 things dex is used for the other 5 most people alrdy know so I won't list them other then it helps determine if how often your weapon proc's at full strength. This is straight out of Primas official strategy guide..So hopefully this will end some of the false info being spread about int casters not needing dex.

This is a great item for casters that are looking to carry a litte more. Anyone who weilds a weapon for a living would not want to take that kinda hit to dex especially warriors who should be trying to pratice all weapons skills.

doesnt help you cary any more because what str you gain is used up by the fact they weight 5 as well

They look like green Chain Armplates on my Woodelf Druid.
Dex- is almost completely compensated with the SplitPaw Hide Gloves.

Dex is only usefully for procing weapons, increasing rate learning of weapons (but 5 less dex is no big deal), range weapons, and some thief skills. If you are a priest class of pure caster dex is probably way down the list. The extra str certainly isn't bad for hitting a little harder, and the ac is decent. Would make a good low-mid level item.
