Pine Needles  

 

Once upon a time, in the early days of EQ, there was an item called "Pine Needles" that could be equipped in the primary melee slot, but it used the Ranged attack skill. Rangers used to covet it for its use lieu of practicing with bow and arrows in a time when many people struggled to cobble together the spare gold to buy arrows from NPC shops.

I never learned where those Pine Needles actually came from, and they were nerfed so long ago that I doubt there are many people left who can still say if they bear a connection with the Pine Needles from this quest. Anyone have any ideas?
