This mob can be taken out by one group. We do it regularly and our tank is usually a beastlord. As long as you have a cleric with a 5k or so mana pool, and you have a bard, it's really a simple fight.

The trick to the encounter is a RC/RGC caster in every group. Nullify the AE's and Korocust is just a DPS encounter. If you don't nullify the AE's, this is a very difficult encounter. Shouldn't need VT/Elemental/Time gear, but should be at least decently PoP or VT geared to do with 2 groups.

Actually, yes, the new Korocust can be done with 10 people. My guild has done him that way as well. The original Korocust we did with 2 full groups of 65's, and he was laughable. The second day (the new version), we did him with 10. Wiped on the first attempt, not knowing he had been changed, but cleaned up and took him out on the second try. Was difficult, but a fun fight. And we had a bard in each group playing PoV, so his AE got resisted by almost everyone. Without his AE getting through, he's like any other 6-800 hitting mob that rampages. Tough fight, but a lot of fun.

When you say two groups of 65, how well equipped? VT, Elemental? Just curious, assessing how many of my guild I'll need.

Go find a web site for Caer Cadarn, you will find that they are a PoTime guild. Any guild that can kill Korucust with 2 groups or less does not need any of his drops.

Not entirely correct, just because the guild as a whole is in POTime does not necissarily mean everyone in the guild is in or been to Time or fully equipped. There just arent enuff drops on a few runs to fully reequip a guild so smaller targets with good loot like this are hit by the two groupers to fill these slots.

I agree that he can be done with 10 people. We attempted him on the first day the zone came out with 7. 65 Paladin, 65 Monk, 65 Cleric, 65 Shaman, 65 Enchanter, 65 Wizard and 57 Ranger ( twink ). We got him down to 59%, I ( 65 Paladin )fell rather quickly, the cleric just could not keep up healing,as I am only 7k hp raid buffed. It was a fun fight but does it ever make for a fun CR. We were luck another group came in behind us, 8 in their party, and finished the job. I am not sure Korocust was fully regen'd or not. They finished him and were kind enough to rezz and save us a P.I.T.A CR.

this drops of korocrust, who almost wiped a raid of 40 with a 9.2k paly tanking... grats to a necro on it.
that's kinda funny...we took him out with only 10 people...althogh we did it the first day that they zone came out. And gratz me on this really nice ring. Although the stats are just about the same as the shissar ring..the effect owns.
