even with all the better blades out there for the ranger class i would still kill for this blade, i started the game when pop came out and its as much of a status symbol and meeningfull blade to have as it is a good blade...i havent gotten much chance to get it to drop now that time is a little outdated as far as upper end raiding guilds go so i probably wont get a chance at it but if i do i will be trying to get it even tho i have better atm and i think a lot of rangers feel the same way
the pet on this thing is awsome, it quads for anything from 1-440 and kicks for 50's, has the mage pet air elemental form, very nice proc, doesn't proc offten.
UMMM, disregard the worm in the title, no Tequila here TYVM.... Here is a pic of it worn, looks simple and neat IMO! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v26/ErikVKing/TimespinnerBladeoftheHunter-worn.jpg
Kind of a shoddy pic, so I will get another if I can and re-post.
Well take yer pic I guess ... the second is a bit dark, but closer and more so easy to see the hilt - the other kind of got caught in the shield behind it...
I got this last night. We've had quite a few runs through time and this is the first time I've seen it drop. The rare info is correct but the effect is wrong. I'll send an updated screenshot to Allakhazam but here's a link for now http://www.xtragamer.com/Cohort/TimespinnerBoH.jpg Enjoy.
Please change the common drop status to extreamly dont even think it exists anymore rare...kill number 45 tonight for my guild and still it still hasnt dropped :(
Having recently aquired this weapon, the problem isn't the proc per se. It's the pet it summons. It's *extremely* inaccurate. I have weapon affinity, Timespinner procs quite a bit. Problem is, the pet misses and dies most of the time without ever landing a blow. I'll frequently go through 5-7 fights without ever seeing the pet hit anything (I have pet damage turned on). When it does hit, it hits for 285-330. If the pet was more accurate, the proc would be great.
Don't get me wrong, the melee dps and stats are great, the proc is pretty bad though. If the pet was fixed to be as accurate as the mobs summoned by the Whip of the Earthcrafted, this weapon would be amazing.
Edit - After further testing and grouping with someone with the Spell Awareness leadership ability, the pet this weapon summons if flat out dumb. For one, it's a ranger. The pet has so far tried to cast Skin like Nature, Calefaction, Swarm of Pain, Eveloping Roots, and Careless Lightning. Most of these spells are garbage compared to the melee damage the pet can do, and in some situations, it's pretty bad on when the pet randomly dots something or roots it.
BTW, a couple months back they made the pet a pure melee class so it won't cast, think they said rogue, but anything is better than a two tick pet that spends all it's time casting.
+Accuracy affects all equipped weapons. There is a shoulder item in Time with +accuracy on it and more than just rangers can wear it, so that should be pretty indicative.
As for the pet proc, a single air pet spawns. Its name is "Yourname's Pet". It has done hits such as 320, 150.. kick for 44. Other hits so far: 195, 135, 225, 180, 105... nice and high. Looks like it has the standard chance of hitting. It lasts for about one combat round, really quick-like.
I haven't seen it cast Natureskin on itself yet, I dont really know whats up with that. I've heard all this horror about the pet proc. I don't see what the problem is.... it's like a melee damage proc. You proc and instead of doing magic damage, you do melee damage via pet. And its just widely variable. Better than yet another spell proc!
Been drooling over this for some time and finally got it last week. It is awesome. The pet proc is actually pretty good. procs 3 air elementals who can hit for 300+ but mostly 100-200 though. Still thats some nice dps.

this is how Its been explained to me. Accuracy effects ALL equipped weapons. Be it Bows, Swords, Axes, Chainsaws, Rocket Launchers, Ak 47s so on, if you can equip it, you'll have a +5 Accuracy bonus. Not just Bows, cause this additional modifier is on more items than just this one Ranger only Item. Bracer of Inferno comes to mind right off the bat, which is a chain class item off of Quarm I believe i could be wrong on who drops it. Just a little hear say information, but i dont think it effects archery only, cause if it did wouldnt it have a ARCHERY mod and not a ACCURACY mod? haha just my 2cp
Effect was changed to the disgusting proc: http://lucy.fnord.net/spell.html?id=3870 Call of the Tempest.
And overpowered what? It's most likely this would be secondary to an Edge of Eternity. It would probably be replacing the Hammer of Crushing Waves or Sword of Primordial Power.
A ranger will Melee alot of times, arrows poof if a mob is walled or cornered etc, that make Archery worthless in this case so we melee. We don't only use bows after EQ and AM3.
At this point in the game a Ranger is very well versed in Agro control so for the most part so they aren't worried about getting agro unless the tanks die. I grouped with a 65 Warrior, and bottom line up front we tried a test and gave him 10 seconds to get agro. As soon as 10 Seconds were up the Wizzy let off his biggest bomb, didn't pull agro. The mob has to be immediately slowed so before the mob even got to the tank the Chanter landed slow. Tank pulled agro before the mob even got to the Chanter. Doesn't always work that way, but more often than not any tank worth his salt will pull and hold agro as long as you do what you are supposed to do to control your part of the agro, if you don't know how to control your agro yet now is the time to find some posts about it and learn..
Why we can't dual wield them you ask?? Can you say overpowered? I know I know dual wield is broken, but with a weapon of this caliber in both hands would be just too much.
Final answer to another question. Yes the accuracy + affects all equippable weaponry
worst problem there is for dual wielders in Pop is not DW being "broken", but the fact that low delay 1h will bring LOTS of ripostes during enrages or if mob turns around
and when a mob whacks you for 2k*4 each time it ripostes 1 of your hits, you don't want to hit him too often ;)
dont know if theres any connection whatsoever, but in eq2,the combat system is supposed to have "called shots" or something similar, where you can try to attack head, arms torso etc, this "may" be a prelude to that combat system going live on regular eq...just a thought...probably way off base. and shouldnt a blade called timespinner also have the timespin effect on it?
"It has a nice proc, but I wonder how many rangers that can get this sword would melee?"
We are a DPS class after all so plenty of rangers that could get this sword would use it to melee Why? because to get this far you must know by now how to manage your agro. Its not that hard for a rangers to drop a Jolting Blades on themselves and drop a couple of Cinder Jolt or Jolt to keep things in line.
There are times when you just can't stand back and fill them full of Arrows no matter how good it feels };p If the modifier carries over to your bow well then even more reason to have. One last thought for you. How often do you go looking for rangers to join your group? There are times we're {rangers} are stuck at doing our own thing solo. and the faster the sob mob goes down the better.
Hope I didn't totally butcher what I was trying to get across.
It has a nice proc, but I wonder how many rangers that can get this sword would melee? At this point mobs are hitting in the multiple 1000's and any aggro is bad. This weapon looks like it is more for bragging rights. ;) I do wonder if accuracy applies to all weapons used...
i am sure that rangers that will loot this weapon, know how to avoid aggro, and the tanks they group with, have some pretty nice aggro weaps as well. a straight up DD proc is no problem at all most of the times. it's stun en EB kinda stuff that gets you the aggro .

This is one helluva ranger sword! I wonder why you can't dual wield them?
Any thoughts on the modifier? If I had to guess (which I do, because I don't know ) I would say that "Accuracy" is basically the same thing you get from the archery buffs, so this sword would make you hit more often with archery, but I suppose it could also refer to melee attacks.
