Yes, but scarred browband is also two expansions newer than this. Its an OoW drop, this is a lower level PoP drop.

I never could understand why people keep dissing the old gear, just because the new expansions drop better stuff.

I know, I know, not everyone plays on a Zek, but if you do, and you pvp alot, then you too have been annulled to the point of only a few buffs, the loss of soe is one of the main goals for annulling a druid. It scares the hell out of some when you keep battling after all your buffs are gone, and can find the invis kos who thinks that without your buffs you are an easy target.
IMO only.

I am still trying to figure out how so many people can't figure out the difference between a mold and a pattern.

Leather armor is made from dropped patterns, not molds.

I guess it's all those plate class people that have a druid alt to port them around, buy their gear and PL themselves.

Now that SOE has opened the previously-flagged zone Bastion of Thunder (a.k.a. Neo Karnors) to all PCs over level 61/62 as well as increasing the drop rate (/shrug that's what SOE has 'claimed') the ornate leather line of armour has become the 'hey big spender' gear of choice even over some SS MQs.

The mold for this cap is the cheapiest of the Ornate Leather Armour at 15K+ (as I write this). However, I'm a bit skeptical of this cap. The HP is very good (40 +4STA) and the mana is very good also (50 +8WIS).

However, it's resists aren't the best and the other stats are okay but not really necessary to a Druid.

Plainsight? Umm...I usually have SoE on me anyways (See Invis + Infravision). Yes, I know that SoE doesn't work in all zones, but how many invis mobs do I encounter on a daily basis? The Light Blue vampyres in ME?! (And yes, I know that this item's effect is 'Godly' on a Zek server and that's the exception.)

I was going to buy the Cap mold until I saw this DROPPABLE item and bought it for 8K (about half the cost of the mold): https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=17215

It's kinda like a Bellows Crafted Cap's big brother. The WIS is good (however if you hunt in tier 2-3 you capped WIS eons ago), good mana, good HP (no STA is the only bad thing). But the best thing is the resists. I'm almost always fighting some annoying AE-casting mob and resists on a cap that gives me the the stats I need is a major plus.

By the way, both the Ornate Leather Cap mold and Sanguine Cap can be found off of yard trash in PoFire/Sol Tower (rarely, but not impossible). Keep your overpriced Ornate Leather Cap molds Mr.Bazaar vendor, I will keep my Sanguine Cap. Keep in mind that molds are sort of similar to spell scrolls...once you scribe it (or quest the armour in this case), it's your forever. No resale.

However, if there is a reason why I should buy this cap's mold, please reply. /smile

Don't forget that not "all" of us leather wearers can just go out and buy whatever equipment we need to upgrade a slot. I, for one, cannot and was very happy when the pattern dropped for my group tonight. As a NBG group, the pattern defaulted to me, the only leather class.

So, for a measly 500pp for the combine box I have myself a very nice upgrade to the Bellows Crafted Cap I have been wearing. (Also a looted item that replaced my Othmir Fur Cap)

Some of us actually only get to upgrade when we loot something better than what we have, and we are happy to get them.

#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 27 2003 at 10:10 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I like my circlet of the falinkan better, much better.... The cap here is as dissapointing as the SS one is. Granted it is decent if it is all you can get.

At the moment, ornate leather helm patterns are going for the same price as sanguine caps on my server (10k).

My druid doesn't go on raids, so I value hp/mana a lot more than a couple of points to resists, and resale isn't an issue since I can't see getting anything better in the near future. (That's my druid though, don't take that as a reason why *you* should buy one.)

However, I'd agree that plainsight is a really cruddy effect. Mask of the Stalker and Spirit of Eagle both have see invis as a part of spell effects. Druids are much better off saving money for ornate arms or boots which have much more useful effects on them.

See, it all depends on the druid. Plainsight for me was one of the reasons that I bought the cap. I'm a human, and that means no sight buffs. Perm effect UV items used to be really hard to get. Being able to get this as a non-raiding druid was awesome for me.

That's just me though.

Aye, I saved this pattern for 10 levels for my druid alt. She's a wood elf, and with a Dark elf main, infravision was just irritating to me. I like the way the world looks through Ultravision, and I like it all the time, not just when I can pop on the right buffs. Admittedly, this druid will likely never be in Time, but she loves her new hat just the same :)

Just a note to anyone thinking about creation, so as not to be confused. Human druids do get sight buffs from some spells. Humans don't get innate infra/ultra vision as race.
